YEAR 3 OF BATANG KALASAG! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Before the semestral break ends, let the kids experience summer outdoor activities through advanced simulations drills and activities on Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Response. The Batang Kalasag Year 3 was successfully conducted last May 25-26, 2026 at Metro Naga Sports Complex wherein children ages 10-15 years old from the 27 Barangays of Naga and Naga City Children's Home actively participated and gained meaningful learnings and friendships in the activity! ๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿง’

This activity is in partnership with City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Barangay Council for the Protection of Children, and the Naga City Children's Federation.

LOOK BACK: Association of Barangay Kagawad Committee Chair on Children / BCPC 2nd Quarter Regular Meeting 2026 ๐Ÿ“

Members of the Federation of the Barangay Kagawad Committee Chair on Children gathered on May 18, 2026 at the Children's Affairs Office, Children Center, in Civic Center to attend the BCPC 2nd Quarter Regular Meeting. The assembly was presided by the Children's Affairs Office (CAO), the meeting focused on BCPC Monitoring, Training of Batang Kalasag, Upcoming Workshops for CBJIP Updating, and BCPC SGLGB Pre-Assessment.

The agenda of the said meeting are:
๐Ÿš‘Batang Kalasag 2026: The CAO in partnership with the CDRRMO, BCPC, and Barangay Children's Organization will once again gather children ages 10-16 years old to be trained as 'Batang Responder' in emergency response and disaster preparedness training.

๐Ÿ“‹ Submission of Remaining Utilization Report: Submission of the the documents for the BCPC cash prize to ensure transparency and continued funding for child-centered programs.

๐Ÿ“‹Schedule of Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Program (CBJIP) Workshop which aims to update and help equip the current BCPCs with knowledge on improving their respective intervention and diversion programs.

๐Ÿ“‹Reminders on BCPC SGLGB Pre-Assessment

๐Ÿ“Other Matters tackled: 1) Strengthening BCPC Monitoring on child protection cases; and 2) Possible piloting of Foster Families in Naga City. We are joined by representatives of the CSWDO to tackle these important matters.

NAGA CITY'S CHILD REPRESENTATIVE JOINS THE 9th PHILIPPINE NATIONAL CHILDREN'S CONFERENCE (PNCC 2026)! ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘ง

Joenard Querben Villanueva Agullana, President of the Naga City Children's Federation and Naga City Representative to the 9th PNCC 2026 brought the voice of Kaakiang Nagueรฑo to the national platform ๐Ÿ‘

The 9th PNCC was held on May 19-22, 2026 at the Bellevue Hotel, Filinvest, Alabang, National Capital Region (NCR). Present also in the event as adult mentor and support is Ms. Glyza C. Nasayao of the Children's Affairs Office.

It was an honor for Joenard to represent Naga City and Bicol Region alongside 80 child representatives all over the country in the 9th Philippine National Children's Conference. The PNCC gathers selected young, competent child leaders all over the country to strengthen child participation, discuss pressing issues affecting children, and ultimately select 3 Child Leaders to represent the Philippines in the ASEAN Children's Forum (ACF) this year in Malaysia.

The Children's Affairs Office (CAO) expresses gratitude to all the supportive leaders in the City Government of Naga headed by Mayor Leni Robredo , NCCWPC Co-Chairman, City Councilor Elmer S. Baldemoro, and CAO Supervising Officer in the Children's Affairs Office, Sir Ray-an Cydrick Rentoy. We also thank Maam Ana Marie Binamira-Telimban of RSCWC Region V for always connecting Naga City to meaningful opportunities at the National level. Basta Bata, Tayo ang Bahala ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

With an outstanding score of 92.91, the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) of Naga City once again garnered the IDEAL adjectival rating during the CY 2026 LCPC Functionality Assessment conducted by the Regional Inter-Agency Monitoring Task Force (RIMTF) and DILG Region V. ๐Ÿ“„

This marks the cityโ€™s '9th consecutive year' of being recognized as an IDEAL LCPC โ€” a testament to Naga Cityโ€™s unwavering commitment to uphold and protect the rights, welfare, participation, and development of every child.

The City Government of Naga, through the Naga City Council for the Welfare and Protection of Children (NCCWPC) under the leadership of Mayor Leni Robredo, extends its heartfelt gratitude to the RIMTF and DILG Region V for this meaningful recognition and continued guidance in strengthening child-friendly governance.

This achievement reflects the collective efforts of our partner offices, agencies, barangays, schools, CSOs, child representatives, and stakeholders who continuously work together to ensure that every Nagueรฑo child grows in a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment.
