WHEN COOPERATIVES UNITE, COMMUNITIES IGNITE 🔥💚
The Municipality of Nabunturan, through the Municipal Cooperative Development Office (MCDO) under the Municipal Agriculture Office, successfully conducted the Culmination Program of the Cooperative Month Celebration on October 22, 2025, with the active participation of 30 cooperatives from various sectors in the municipality.
Nabunturan’s cooperatives marched as one toward a future of shared prosperity and empowered communities! The celebration kicked off with a vibrant parade through the town’s main streets, where cooperative members proudly carried their banners and wore coordinated outfits — a true display of unity and progress.
The program continued at the Municipal Covered Court, attended by Hon. SP Macario Humol, Hon. Mayor Myrocel C. Balili, Hon. Vice Mayor Cyrian A. Reterba, Hon. SB Franklin Alipan, and Municipal Agriculturist Margarito M. Libres, who all expressed their support and appreciation for the significant contributions of cooperatives in promoting inclusive growth and community empowerment.
In her inspirational message, Hon. Mayor Myrocel C. Balili commended the collective efforts of all cooperatives in fostering social and economic development in Nabunturan. She emphasized that cooperatives continue to play a vital role in achieving shared prosperity and building a sustainable future, highlighting their importance in advancing livelihood opportunities and grassroots empowerment.
A key feature of the event was the KADIWA Display Booth organized by the Nabunturan Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative (NAFAMCO), a farmer cooperative supported by the Department of Agriculture – Region XI. The booth featured rice sold at ₱20.00 per kilogram, prioritized for senior citizens, solo parents, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and low minimum wage earners, with a maximum of 10 kilograms per household. The KADIWA initiative, launched last year during the “Pista sa Ani” in celebration of the Simballay Festival, aims to provide affordable, high-quality rice to consumers while strengthening local agricultural production and marketing.
Adding to the celebration, the NCAPA Marketing Cooperative also joined the activity with their display and selling of rice at a lower price and recycled bayong, promoting both sustainability and local enterprise through eco-friendly products and affordable rice options.
Certificates of appreciation and recognition were presented to outstanding cooperatives and cooperative leaders for their exemplary performance and active participation during the Cooperative Month celebration.
The activity was facilitated by MCDO/Agriculturist II Herve June R. Alboroto from the Municipal Agriculture Office, spearheaded by Municipal Agriculturist Margarito M. Libres, whose leadership and coordination ensured the success of the celebration.
The Cooperative Month 2025 Culmination Program truly embodied the theme “Cooperatives: United in Purpose and Action, Sharing Prosperity to Build a Better World” — celebrating unity, purpose, and the unwavering spirit of cooperation among Nabunturan’s cooperatives.
