The Office of the Sangguniang Bayan, in coordination with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office, and the Barangay Council of Maputi conducted a Mangrove Planting in Barangay Maputi, Naawan Misamis Oriental.

Mangroves play a crucial role in coastal communities by providing protection from storms, preventing erosion, supporting biodiversity, and serving as nurseries for fish and other marine life. Tree planting initiatives help restore and maintain mangrove ecosystems, ensuring their benefits for both the environment and the community's well-being.

This activity was spearheaded by the Chairman of the Committee on Environmental Protection, Hon. Jaime C. Roa, supported by the head of the Sangguniang Bayan, our Municipal Vice Mayor, Hon. Allan B. Roa together with the members of the sangguniang bayan present herewith.

This activity would not be possible without the support of our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Dennis L. Roa, whose flagship program includes the protection of our environment.

Exciting Update! March 13, 2024

We're thrilled to report that the construction of the Barangay Don Pedro Multi-Purpose Building, a covered court under the DPWH project, is progressing rapidly! This morning, the DPWH Project Engineer, Engr. Jerald Puno, alongside esteemed members of the Sangguniang Bayan: Hon. Jaime C. Roa, Hon. Era Mae V. Macalong, and Hon. Lea G. Buhian, inspected the site.

This remarkable progress is a testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone involved, especially our esteemed Mayor, Hon. Dennis L. Roa, who spearheaded this initiative, together with the unwavering support of Vice Mayor, Hon. Allan B. Roa. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to build a better community together!

The Sangguniang Bayan - Naawan, Misamis Oriental together with the Engineering Office and Assessors Office conducted initial survey on the land area where the Multipurpose Covered Court of Barangay Don Pedro be located. This project was realized through the effort of our Mayor, Hon. Dennis L. Roa.

The Sangguniang Bayan Members, namely, Hon. Roa, Hon. Era Mae Velez Macalong, & Hon. Lea Buhian, together with the Department of Public Works and Highways 2nd District Engineering Office, conducted a site survey for the Proposed Construction of Road with Canal from Linugos Mat-I to Barangay Tagabalogo of the Municipality of Naawan.

Last week, members of the Sangguniang Bayan of the Local Government Unit of Naawan, headed by the Chairman of the Committee on Environmental Protection, Hon. Raul S. Dandasan, visited and conducted Benchmarking at General Santos City. The said City is known for its good practices of fishery-related activities and has approved local ordinances that primarily protect and regulate such activities. The trip was purposely initiated to aid our local legislators in the crafting of our Comprehensive Fishery Code in this Municipality. Such Code protects not only the coastal and fishery resources but also provides for the conservation of all marine life in the territorial jurisdiction of the Municipal Waters.

*Nota Bene: Minimum Health Standard Protocols were observed during the entire duration of the trip. Discussions on the Alert Level Status of both LGUs were also considered prior to travel.

The Sangguniang Bayan of Manticao and Naawan conducted an Ocular Inspection to identify the Municipal Water Boundaries of Manticao-Naawan. After series of Consultative Meetings, the Sangguniang Bayan of Manticao, headed by Vice Mayor Stephen Tan, and the Sangguniang Bayan of Naawan, headed by Vice Mayor “Dokie” Jaime Roa, together with the members of the Honorable Councils, convened and agreed to the Manticao-Naawan Water Boundary that was provided by the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA).

The Office of the Sangguniang Bayan of Naawan, Misamis Oriental, represented by the Members of the Committee on Environmental Protection- Hon Raul Dandasan, Hon. Junie D. Velez and Hon. Connie Saturno, conducted a dialog between the Sangguniang Bayan of Initao to discuss the identification of the Municipal Water Boundaries of Initao and Naawan. After series of Meetings with LGU Initao, the two Municipalities are now preparing for the Ceremonial Signing of the Agreement on the Municipal Water Boundaries.

The Office of the Sangguniang Bayan received a Certificate of Appreciation from the teaching workforce of Naawan Central School for the continuous support to the success of the Brigada Eskwela 2021.

Present in the picture is the District Supervisor of Naawan District, Mr. Ric D. Gabe and the Naawan Central School Principal, Mrs. Elcris Caño. Also the Members of the Sangguniang Bayan - Naawan, Misamis Oriental headed by Municipal Vice Mayor, Hon. Jaime C. Roa, and our Municipal Councilors, Hon. Allan Roa, Hon. Jeffry Mahinay, Hon.
