3/3 Batches of HIV and other TTI Testing Proficiency Workshop — DONE! 🎉

We have successfully completed all three batches of the HIV and other TTI Testing Proficiency Training Workshop!

The three batches first attended the online sessions held on August 5–7, 2026, followed by their respective face-to-face sessions:

🩸 Batch 1 – Cebu: August 10–12, 2026
🩸 Batch 2 – Cebu: August 13–15, 2026
🩸 Batch 3 – RITM: August 11–13, 2026

Two batches were conducted at the Subnational Blood Center for Visayas, in collaboration with PAMET Cebu, while one batch was held onsite at RITM.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to all our TTI-NRL facilitators and regional facilitators for sharing their time, expertise, and dedication throughout the training. Truly, your support and commitment made this accomplishment possible.

And to our participants, congratulations on completing the course! Continue to uphold quality in blood screening and be advocates for blood safety.

ATM: Day 2 of Batch 2 of the Cebu batch of the Regional HIV/TTI Testing Proficiency Training Workshop. 🧑‍🔬👩‍🔬

This week was a challenging yet fun work week for the TTI NRL team as we had 3 batches of face-to-face laboratory training activities for the HIV/TTI Testing Proficiency Training Workshop. 💪💛

We have completed the Batch 1 of the Cebu Training and the Philippine Red Cross Batch in the RITM. ✅✅

The Trainings for this week has been an active collaboration of the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, PAMET - Cebu Chapter, Subnational Blood Center for Visayas - Department of Health and the Philippine Red Cross - Blood Services. 🤝❤️

We thank and congratulate all 60 participants and the 6 Regional Facilitators of the RITM TTI NRL who along with our collaborators, helped us make this activity a success! 🎉🎉

🔹Upon successful registration, participants shall receive an acknowledgment of application through their registered email. The RITM NEQAS Office shall verify the submitted registration details and supporting documents prior to confirming participation.

🔹RITM shall issue a separate advisory indicating the payment schedule and other relevant details. Participants shall only proceed with payment strictly in accordance with the officially communicated schedule and instructions. Payments made in advance while registration is closed, or outside the prescribed payment period, shall not be accepted. Payments made without an Order of Payment shall likewise not be accepted.

🔹For inquiries or concerns related to any program, you may contact the RITM NEQAS Office through email at 𝗻𝗲𝗾𝗮𝘀@𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗺.𝗴𝗼𝘃.𝗽𝗵. Access to the mobile and direct phone numbers will be limited. Email will be used as primary mode of correspondence.

As a National Reference Laboratory for infectious diseases, RITM is mandated to provide External Quality Assessment Scheme (EQAS) to laboratories in the country for bacteriology, TB mycobacteriology, parasitology, transfusion-transmissible infections, and SARS-CoV-2. An External Quality Assessment Scheme (EQAS) evaluates the performance of participating laboratories by checking the proficiency of the technical staff performing tests and/or assessing the integrity of the entire testing process from sample receipt to releasing of test results.

Participation in EQAS as part of an overall laboratory quality assurance program is required under local regulatory policies for securing a license to operate.
