According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, suicidal thoughts can affect anyone no matter of age, gender or background, much like mental health conditions, and often indicate more serious issues. One hundred and thirty years ago, the people of Nueva Ecija stood among the Filipinos who courageously rose against the rule of the Spaniards. The 𝐔𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐰 𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 marked an important chapter in the Philippine Revolution in Central Luzon and contributed to the growing movement that eventually lead to our nation’s independence. Today, we honor their courage and sacrifice, bringing history to life through programs that serve and empower the Novo Ecijanos.

𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒆 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒌 𝑫𝒂𝒚 is a global celebration held on the 𝟑𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 each year, which gives opportunity to raise awareness of whale sharks, share information on their role within their ecosystems, and promote conservation initiatives.

This day also paves way to highlight the range of threats these 𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙨 currently face including climate change, wildlife tourism, and fishing industry.

🔵Every whale shark has a unique pattern just like human fingerprints.
🔵 They are the largest fish in the world which can grow up to 18 meters long and weighing more than 20 tons.
🔵They have thousands of teeth but use their gills to eat.
🔵Sadly, they are endangered species which faces threats human activities.

It is important to know that animals have lives to live too. Protecting the oceans that they consider their home will help ensure that these gentle giants continue to thrive in the next generations. 🐳🩵

In the past few weeks, the southwest monsoon and typhoons have been affecting areas of the country, with us experiencing the damages firsthand—from the heavy rains and floods to the risks to our safety and health.😷⛈️

Still, we must never forget to seek accountability for all the billions lost to the flood control controversies and corruption instead of proper flood control projects, safe facilities, and proper disaster management. We Filipinos are known to be strong, but we should not be romanticizing resiliency because we deserve accountability, proper management, and justice. ⚖️📢

The Veterinary Student Government and University Supreme Student Council respectfully invites all USSC Members, CVSM Students, Faculty, and Staff to attend the 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬 this 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟑𝟎, at 𝟓:𝟑𝟎 𝐏𝐌.

As part of the holy celebration, a special prayer and tribute will be offered in remembrance of our dear vet student, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐉𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐞 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚.

‎We remember 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐉𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐞 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 as a bright light in our lives, a wonderful, reliable, and endlessly happy soul whose warmth touched everyone around him. He was more than a vetmate; he was a student, a friend, and a reliable orgmate who brought comfort, laughter, and strength to people around him.

‎It is with deep sadness that we mourn his untimely passing. The College of Veterinary Science and Medicine and the Veterinary Student Government stand with his family during this time of grief.
‎
‎We will always remember his legendary car service, those fun rides and his cheesy jokes that turned every travel into an adventure. His wheels may be parked, but the memories he drove into our hearts will keep rolling on.
