Representing 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓–𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐆. 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚, Project Technical Assistant I, joined stakeholders, project partners, and the 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐮ñ𝐨𝐳 to support local technology innovation and promote oyster mushroom enterprise development.

Led by the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞–𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐈𝐈𝐈 (𝐃𝐀-𝐑𝐅𝐎 𝐈𝐈𝐈), the event provided participating processors with production technologies for oyster mushroom-based goods. The ceremony highlighted the launch of three value-added products (Oyster Mushroom Tocino, Oyster Mushroom Bulgogi, and Oyster Mushroom Tapa), demonstrating the potential of mushrooms as alternative raw materials.

Designed to assist the 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, the project helps local farmers transform raw yields into processed food lines, driving product diversification and additional income generation across the agricultural value chain.

Active participation from 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓–𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 in inter-agency initiatives underscores the office's support for science, technology, and innovation in community enterprises.

The 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲–𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 (𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓–𝐍𝐄), led by Provincial Science and Technology Director 𝐃𝐫. 𝐋𝐞𝐢𝐝𝐢 𝐌𝐞𝐥 𝐁. 𝐒𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭, joined the historic commemoration of the 𝟏𝟑𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐔𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐰 𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 on 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, at the 𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐦, 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲.

Organized by the Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija through the Provincial Tourism Office, the commemoration honored the bravery of Novo Ecijano revolutionaries during the 1896 Philippine Revolution—a historical event represented by one of the eight rays of the sun in the Philippine national flag.

The day-long activity featured opening remarks from Vice Governor 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐆𝐢𝐥 𝐑𝐚𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐌. 𝐔𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢, messages from Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐨 𝐉. 𝐂𝐚𝐜𝐝𝐚𝐜 and OWWA Administrator 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐘𝐯𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞 "𝐏𝐘" 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐧, and an address from Governor 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐀𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐨 𝐌. 𝐔𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢.

Alongside the historical commemoration, the event hosted a Grand Job Fair, the ceremonial launch of the Serbisyong Pangkalusugan, Mas Malapit sa Novo Ecijano mobile pharmacy, mental health and connectivity initiatives for DepEd schools, and technical learning sessions led by partner national agencies.

Through its active participation in provincial affairs, 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓–𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 continues to strengthen inter-agency partnerships that support local history, community development, and socio-economic progress across the province.

​Noong 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘆𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗲 𝟮–𝟱, 𝟭𝟴𝟵𝟲, niyanig ng tapang at paninindigan ang San Isidro nang pangunahan nina 𝗛𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗟𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮 at 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲 ang 𝗨𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘄 𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝘂𝗲𝘃𝗮 𝗘𝗰𝗶𝗷𝗮.

​Ang kanilang pag-aaklas laban sa pamahalaang Espanyol ay hindi lamang simpleng laban; ito ang nagsilbing mitsa na nagpalagablab sa apoy ng Rebolusyong Pilipino sa buong Gitnang Luzon.

​Ngayong 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘆𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗲 𝟮, buong-pusong yumuyukod ang 𝗗𝗢𝗦𝗧 - 𝗡𝘂𝗲𝘃𝗮 𝗘𝗰𝗶𝗷𝗮 sa dakilang pamana ng katapangan, sakripisyo, at pagkakaisa ng ating mga bayaning Novo Ecijano.

​Ang sigaw ng kalayaan kahapon ay ang natatanging hamon sa atin ngayon—ang patuloy na ipaglaban ang mas maunlad, ligtas, at matatag na kinabukasan.

Designed to build operational capabilities, the workshop provided participants with training in business model development, financial tracking, recordkeeping, and service fee computation.

The morning session covered financial metrics, detailing operating costs, depreciation costs, and fee structures. In the afternoon, facilitators introduced the 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐯𝐚𝐬, guiding participants through value propositions, customer segments, resource allocation, cost structures, and revenue streams.

Complementing the business strategy modules, attendees received guidance on machine utilization tracking. Speakers noted that standardized recordkeeping procedures assist in evaluating agricultural machinery performance over time.

Led by the PHilMech Enterprise Development Division under the leadership of its Section Chief, Engr. Mayville B. Castro, together with resource speakers Engr. Kristinea Elaine B. Latonio, Engr. Danilo A. Briones, and Ms. Rhea Blanca B. Cariaga, the activity served as a valuable capability-building platform for the participants.

The 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 (𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓) 𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 conducted a monitoring activity on the 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐥𝐲 (𝐁𝐒𝐅) and 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞-𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 projects of the 𝐋𝐆𝐔-𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐑𝐎) and the 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐚 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐆𝐏𝐅𝐅𝐎) in Barangay Pag-asa and Barangay Bacal II, Talavera, Nueva Ecija.

Through the 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 (𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐓) 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦, both beneficiaries received 𝐁𝐒𝐅 starter kits to establish their own production facilities, complemented by 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞-𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and 𝐆𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐤𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧.

With the initial setup, the 𝐋𝐆𝐔-𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚 𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐑𝐎's 𝐁𝐒𝐅 facility can process up to 𝟐𝟎 kilograms of biodegradable waste daily, producing 𝐁𝐒𝐅 frass for soil amendment and potting mix, while the 𝐁𝐒𝐅 larvae serve as an alternative feed source for chicken which creates a simple yet effective circular farming system.

Meanwhile, the 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐚 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐆𝐏𝐅𝐅𝐎) has successfully produced new chicks from the initial chickens provided, marking a new production cycle and demonstrating the sustainability and continuity of the intervention.

Through these 𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐓 interventions, 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 promotes the conversion of waste into valuable resources while advancing sustainable agriculture, food production, and community resilience.

The 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 – 𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 (𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓–𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚) conducted a training on 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 (𝐆𝐌𝐏), 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲, and 𝟓𝐒 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 for three dairy-processing cooperative beneficiaries on 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, at the 𝐒𝐈𝐏𝐁𝐔 𝐌𝐏𝐂 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚.

The activity was attended by members of the 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚 𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐮𝐤𝐚𝐬 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 (𝐒𝐈𝐏𝐁𝐔 𝐌𝐏𝐂), 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞, and 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞, all engaged in dairy processing. The training aimed to strengthen their knowledge and practices in maintaining safe, sanitary, and efficient processing environments essential to the production of quality dairy products.

The discussion on 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 and 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 emphasized the importance of proper personal hygiene, sanitation, safe handling of raw materials, appropriate processing procedures, and maintaining clean production areas. These practices are particularly important in dairy processing, where proper handling and sanitation are essential in maintaining product safety and quality.

The participants were likewise introduced to the 𝟓𝐒 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠, a systematic approach to organizing and maintaining the workplace. Through proper sorting, organization, cleanliness, standardization, and discipline, the cooperatives can improve the efficiency of their processing areas while promoting a safer and more productive working environment.

The training provided the cooperatives with practical knowledge that they can apply to their daily dairy processing operations, supporting their efforts to improve product quality, strengthen food safety compliance, and enhance the overall efficiency of their enterprises.

Through capability-building activities such as this, 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 continues to empower local cooperatives and dairy processors through 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐒𝐓𝐈). By equipping community-based enterprises with appropriate technical knowledge and improved production practices, the agency supports the development of safer, more competitive, and sustainable local food enterprises.
