The 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲–𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 (𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓–𝐍𝐄) reaffirmed its commitment to advancing local science, technology, and innovation through a ceremonial Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing with the 𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 (𝐍𝐄𝐔𝐒𝐓) on 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, at the 𝐍𝐄𝐔𝐒𝐓 Sumacab Campus in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.

The agreements formalize key collaborative initiatives between DOST and academic partners to support emerging technologies, research, and community-level innovation across the province. Among the highlights was the signing of an amended MOA for a DOST-funded initiative under the 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐕𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 (𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐕𝐄) 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦, which refocused the former SunHarvest project toward "Smart Rehabilitation of Solar-Assisted Electric Vehicles for Sustainable Community Mobility."

Delivering the Message of Support, 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓–𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 Provincial Director 𝐃𝐫. 𝐋𝐞𝐢𝐝𝐢 𝐌𝐞𝐥 𝐁. 𝐒𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭 highlighted the essential role of academic-government partnerships in driving provincial development and turning research into practical, community-centered technologies. 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐮𝐳𝐨𝐧 Regional Director 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐫 𝐕. 𝐒𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭 also underscored the impact of sustained collaboration in bringing science-backed solutions to local communities.

Through continued collaboration with higher education institutions, 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓–𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 remains dedicated to empowering local researchers and delivering science-based solutions that directly benefit communities across the region.

𝐒𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭, convened with academic partners today, 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, at the 𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 (𝐍𝐄𝐔𝐒𝐓) Sumacab Campus to evaluate implementation updates, progress reports, and initial outputs for two smart city projects under the 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓–𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 (𝐒𝐒𝐂𝐏).

During the presentation, 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐮𝐳𝐨𝐧 Regional Director 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐫 𝐕. 𝐒𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭 reviewed the project updates and provided technical recommendations to guide the implementation of both initiatives.

The first initiative, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐋𝐀 “𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘜𝘳𝘣𝘢𝘯 𝘔𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘔𝘶ñ𝘰𝘻”, implemented by 𝐍𝐄𝐔𝐒𝐓, presented its initial design schematics and structural prototypes aimed at revolutionizing local transit through a tech-empowered hybrid tricycle.

The second initiative, 𝐒𝐂𝐃𝐈-𝐇𝐔𝐁 “𝘈𝘐-𝘋𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘚𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘋𝘢𝘵𝘢 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝘋𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘏𝘶𝘣 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘔𝘶ñ𝘰𝘻”, implemented by 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐮𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 (𝐂𝐋𝐒𝐔) in partnership with the 𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐮ñ𝐨𝐳, demonstrated its baseline data inputs, analytical dashboards, and predictive visualization tools to enhance data-driven municipal governance.

The review highlights the shared commitment of 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓–𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚, 𝐍𝐄𝐔𝐒𝐓, 𝐂𝐋𝐒𝐔, and 𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐌𝐮ñ𝐨𝐳 toward driving science-backed solutions that uplift local transit, urban planning, and community welfare across the province.

𝐒𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭, participated in 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔: “𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐭” on 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, held at Reimer’s Hall, 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐮𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 (𝐂𝐋𝐒𝐔).

The event highlighted the intersection of creative expression, local artistry, and textile innovation. Joining the gathering were key science and technology leaders, including DOST–Central Luzon Regional Director 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐫 𝐕. 𝐒𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭 and DOST–Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST–PTRI) Director 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐋. 𝐋𝐞𝐚ñ𝐨 𝐉𝐫., who also served as a distinguished member of the board of judges, alongside delegation members, industry representatives, and participants from various sectors.

Centered on the theme “Where Threads Meet the Beat,” the runway showcase blended fashion, music, and technology to celebrate Filipino ingenuity. More than a display of contemporary style, the event served as an interactive platform for makers and designers to demonstrate how modern processing technologies and local materials converge to shape the future of Philippine textiles.

Through its ongoing support for regional showcases and collaborations with DOST–PTRI, 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓–𝐍𝐔𝐄𝐕𝐀 𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐉𝐀 continues to advocate for sustainable textile research, encouraging broader industry adoption of indigenous fibers, innovative fabrics, and local creative production.

The 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲–𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 (𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓–𝐍𝐄) participated in the 𝐈𝐒𝐊𝐎𝐧𝐞𝐤 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 on 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, at the College of Civil Engineering, 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐮𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 (𝐂𝐋𝐒𝐔).

Organized by the 𝐂𝐋𝐒𝐔–𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬 (𝐂𝐋𝐒𝐔–𝐀𝐃𝐒), the gathering aimed to strengthen camaraderie, community, and the shared commitment of scholars as 𝐈𝐬𝐤𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧.

Representing DOST–Nueva Ecija Provincial Director 𝐃𝐫. 𝐋𝐞𝐢𝐝𝐢 𝐌𝐞𝐥 𝐁. 𝐒𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭, Project Technical Assistant I 𝐌𝐫. 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐆. 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚 attended the assembly to deliver the official message of the Provincial Director.

In her address, Dr. Sicat emphasized the core values of mutual support and national responsibility:

"This is precisely why the tradition within CLSU-ADS of acting as a big brother and small brother to one another is so powerful. In this organization, no one walks alone. You carry the banner of 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐀𝐑 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐀 𝐒𝐀 𝐁𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐍—a reminder that your education is fueled by the Filipino people, and your ultimate allegiance belongs to them. Let us continually strive for 𝐀𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐦 𝐧𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐝𝐚𝐦—science that is genuinely felt, science that touches lives, and science that provides real solutions to the communities that need it the most."

The assembly served as a valuable platform to reinforce the principles of excellence, service, and accountability among the scholars. Through active collaboration with academic institutions and student organizations, 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓–𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 remains dedicated to mentoring young 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐌 leaders as they prepare to drive national development.

𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗢𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗡 | Isang electric tricycle na kayang umabot hanggang 80 kilometers sa isang charge lamang? Astig, diba!

Sa 𝗘𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝟯𝟭 na pinamagatang, “𝗖-𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗲: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗩𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆”, makakasama natin si 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗿. 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗕. 𝗢𝗿𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮, ang Project Leader ng Cagayan State University – Electromobility Research and Development Center (CSU-EMRDC), upang mas makilala pa natin ang C-Trike at kung paano binabago ng teknolohiya ang sektor ng transportasyon sa kanilang rehiyon.
