Rustom Abenido, James Michael Cabasag and Jean Mae Timtim joined scores of other youth leaders from Cebu Province during the ABTIK Leaders Camp 2026, a youth leadership summit organized by the Cebu Provincial Youth Development Office.

The three-day camp, which included a training seminar on basic life support and standard first aid, aimed to empower the youth leaders to be able to bring governance closer to their communities, especially to the youth sector.

Mayor Inocentes G. Cabaron has reminded all department leaders of the Municipal Government of Moalboal to continuously observe excellence in public service as they carry out their mandated functions and frontline services for the people of Moalboal. Speaking before department heads and key office personnel, Mayor Cabaron emphasized that every transaction, program, and project of the local government must reflect integrity, efficiency, and genuine concern for constituents.

The mayor reiterated that public service is both a privilege and a responsibility, and urged department heads to lead by example in ensuring timely, transparent, and people-centered service in their respective offices. He also underscored the importance of teamwork, accountability, and adherence to approved policies, reminding officials that the trust of the public is strengthened when government offices are responsive, organized, and consistent in their service delivery.

Mayor Cabaron further encouraged all municipal departments to align their initiatives with the administration’s vision of a progressive, safe, and inclusive Moalboal, where public service is felt down to the barangay level. He said that excellence in public service is essential in sustaining Moalboal’s growth in tourism, social services, and community development, and in maintaining the town’s reputation as a local government that delivers.

The MSWDO, led by Cristy Villaceran, conducts its regular curfew patrol along with the Women's and Children Protection Desk of the Moalboal PNP to make sure minors are not in public areas at 10 p.m. Parents and guardians ang strongly reminded to monitor the whereabouts of their children regularly for their safety.

Moalboal settled for second place in the Calderon Cup U21 Girls Volleyball tournament after losing to Badian in four sets in the championship match on May 31, 2026.

It was a tough end for Moalboal, who won all eight matches prior to the championship.

The Municipal Government of Moalboal has given its full endorsement to JC Taekwondo Moalboal to proudly carry the town’s colors in the Batang Pinoy 2026 National Championships in Bacolod City this December. This approval opens the door for young Moalboalanon athletes to step onto the national stage, proving that dedication in our small coastal town can lead to big dreams and even bigger opportunities. It affirms the belief that with discipline, hard work, and faith, our youth can stand shoulder to shoulder with the country’s best.

Backed by their families, coaches, and the entire LGU, the JC Taekwondo athletes are training harder than ever, determined not only to win medals but to embody the true spirit of Moalboal: resilience, respect, and unity. Their journey from local gym sessions to a national arena shows every child in our barangays that sport is a powerful path—away from distractions and toward character, confidence, and hope. Each kick and each bow will be a tribute to the community that believed in them.

The LGU calls on all Moalboalanons to support the team as they prepare for Batang Pinoy 2026—through prayers, encouragement, and loud cheers from home or in the stands. May their courage inspire more young people to chase their dreams, whether in sports, academics, or community service. As our athletes step into the competition, they carry not just a municipal seal, but the aspirations of an entire town that believes, “Kaya nato ni—Moalboal can.”

Moalboal and Badian arranged a titular showdown after scoring similar three set wins in the semifinal round of the Calderon Cup U21 Girls Volleyball tournament at the Moalboal Gymnasium on May 31, 2026.

Moalboal survived Alcantara, 25-14, 19-25, 25-14 with Cecilia Gocotano earning Player of the Game honors after scoring 10 points on 10 excellent sets. Meanwhile, Badian, the which finished second to Moalboal in the elimination round with a 6-1 mark, also survived Dumanjug in three sets.

Alcantara and Dumanjug will battle for third place at 6 p.m. with the championship match between the top two teams to follow immediately.

To all Moalboal volleyball fans, let's all support the girls as they gun for the title!
