The Local Government Unit of Sinacaban headed by Hon. Mayor Dello T. Lood through the Provincial Government Office headed by Governor Henry S. Oaminal in partnership with the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), led by Ms. Edlyn Mariquit, successfully conducted an informative orientation for our local coconut farmers today at the Poblacion Covered Court.

This initiative, aimed at boosting our local "Tree of Life" industry, was strengthened by the presence and support of our dedicated leaders:

The BFAR Regional Office 10 team joined forces with our LGU for the FischCore Project scoping activity.

The Highlights:

โœ… Technical Scoping: Field assessments to ensure project sustainability.

โœ… Community Voice: Direct consultations and conversations with our Fisherfolk Association beneficiaries.

In celebration of National Womenโ€™s Month, the Local Government Unit of Sinacabanโ€”in coordination with the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR) Region 10, through its Provincial Fisheries Office (PFO) in Misamis Occidentalโ€”successfully conducted an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activity for women fisherfolk. The event specifically engaged the Womenโ€™s Small-Scale Fisherfolk Associations of Libertad Bajo and Cagay-anon.

The activity included an outreach program and a Zumba session to promote health, wellness, and active participation, focusing on empowering women in the industry by recognizing their crucial role in the fisheries sector. It featured discussions on the role of women in fisheries and provided a platform for them to share their unique experiences and challenges.
