The Barangay Government of Cubay, Miagao, Iloilo, through the Committee on Environmental Protection and Management, together with all Barangay Committees, successfully conducted various activities in celebration of Environmental Protection Month 2026 while continuing to implement community development projects for the benefit of our constituents.

June 2026 Accomplishments

Installation of Street Lights Project
As part of our commitment to improve public safety and security, the Barangay Government successfully completed the installation of additional street lights in strategic areas of Barangay Cubay. This project aims to provide safer roads for motorists and pedestrians, enhance nighttime visibility, and help maintain peace and order within the community.

FREE LTO THEORETICAL DRIVING COURSE (TDC)
Good news, mga pumuluyo sang Barangay Cubay!

The Office of Cong. Doc Nanay Janette L. Garin, in partnership with the Land Transportation Office (LTO), is offering a FREE 15-Hour Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) for residents of the First District of Iloilo.

🗓 Training Dates: July 30–31, 2026
📍 Venue: Miagao, Iloilo
📌 Requirements: ✅ Photocopy of PSA Birth Certificate
✅ One (1) Valid Government ID
🗓 Deadline of Submission: July 25, 2026

📍 Submit requirements at the District Office, Brgy. Torilblanca, Guimbal, Iloilo.

This is a great opportunity for those planning to apply for a Student Driver's Permit.

🚨 𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐂 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐘 🚨

Please be advised that the "Interagency Territorial Defense Operations Exercise (ITDOEX) 2026" will be conducted on June 16–17, 2026, in selected areas of Miagao and San Joaquin, Iloilo.

📍 Exercise Activities on June 16, 2026 (Miagao):

🕤 9:30 AM – Simulated Civilian Spillover Exercise in Brgy. Sapa
🕧 12:30 PM– Missile Attack Simulation Exercise in Brgys. Kirayan Tacas and Igtuba

Motorists and residents are advised to expect heavy traffic congestion and intermittent road delays along the route from Poblacion to Kirayan Tacas due to the movement of military, police, emergency response units, and exercise-related equipment.

📢 IMPORTANT NOTICE

These exercises are capacity-building simulations only and should not cause public alarm, as there is no active threat in the Province of Iloilo.

Residents and travelers passing through Southern Iloilo may observe the following during the two-day exercise:

🔹 Large-scale deployment of personnel – Approximately 1,200 participants from civilian, police, military, and emergency response agencies will take part in the exercise.

🔹 Military equipment deployment – Military vehicles and naval assets will be utilized during selected simulation activities.

🔹 Simulated emergency scenarios – The exercises will focus on:
• Coastal Defense Operations
• Missile Attack Response
• Civilian Spillover Management

This landmark activity is the first territorial defense exercise of its kind in the Visayas Region, spearheaded by the Iloilo Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) and the 301st Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army.

Participating agencies include the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Office of Civil Defense (OCD), and the Local Government Units of Miagao and San Joaquin.

All necessary safety measures and security protocols are in place to ensure the safety of the public throughout the conduct of the exercises.

We encourage residents and travelers to remain calm, anticipate temporary traffic adjustments near exercise sites, and cooperate with law enforcement and authorized personnel directing traffic and movement.

Today, we bid farewell to our beloved Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Carlo M. Noquez, with heartfelt gratitude for his years of dedicated service, spiritual guidance, and love for our parish community.

Thank you, Father Carlo, for strengthening our faith and inspiring us through your ministry. May God continue to bless you in your new assignment.

At the same time, we warmly welcome Rev. Fr. Gremar Lacson as the new Parish Priest of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish. We are grateful for your presence and look forward to journeying with you in faith, unity, and service.

BARANGAY CUBAY ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR THE MONTH OF MAY 2026
(In line with Resolution No. 2026-03: Adopting and Approving the Barangay Cubay Calendar of Activities for Calendar Year 2026)

📌 May 2026 Accomplishments Report

In accordance with Resolution No. 2026-03, Barangay Cubay successfully conducted and supported the following activities during the month of May:

✅ Labor Day Celebration
The Barangay recognized the valuable contributions of workers and laborers whose dedication continues to support the growth and development of the community.

✅ Barangay Religious and Cultural Activities – Flores de Mayo / Mayflower Festival
In partnership with the Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish, Barangay Cubay actively supported the Flores de Mayo celebration, promoting faith, cultural heritage, and community participation through various religious activities and the traditional Mayflower Festival.

✅ Elderly and Senior Citizens Week Celebration
Special activities were conducted in honor of our senior citizens, recognizing their contributions and promoting their welfare, active participation, and well-being within the community.

✅ Mobile Legends (ML) Tournament
Through the leadership of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK), a Mobile Legends Tournament was successfully organized to encourage youth engagement, sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy competition among the young people of Barangay Cubay.

✅ Regular Clean-Up Drive and Environmental Sanitation Activities
The Barangay continuously conducted regular clean-up drives in public areas, roadsides, drainage canals, and community spaces to maintain cleanliness, promote environmental awareness, prevent flooding, and safeguard public health.

✅ Brigada Eskwela 2026
Barangay officials, SK officials, volunteers, parents, teachers, and community stakeholders participated in Brigada Eskwela activities to help prepare school facilities for the opening of classes. The activity demonstrated the spirit of volunteerism and collective responsibility in supporting quality education.

The Barangay Council extends its heartfelt gratitude to all volunteers, organizations, parish workers, senior citizens, youth participants, teachers, parents, and community members whose cooperation and support contributed to the successful implementation of these activities.

Together, we continue to build a cleaner, safer, and more progressive Barangay Cubay through unity, service, and active community participation.
