๐๐๐จ๐ฉ-๐๐๐จ๐ฉ ๐๐๐๐ ๐พ๐ค๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ฃ๐ฎ, in partnership with the ๐๐ค๐๐๐ก ๐๐ค๐ซ๐๐ง๐ฃ๐ข๐๐ฃ๐ฉ ๐๐ฃ๐๐ฉ ๐ค๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ค through the ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ค๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐ช๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ก ๐ผ๐๐ง๐๐๐ช๐ก๐ฉ๐ช๐ง๐๐จ๐ฉ , successfully conducted an Onion Field Day at Brgy. Bagumbayan, Miagao, Iloilo, featuring the thriving onion farm of Mr. Dexter Miague. The activity highlighted the excellent growth performance and adaptability of various onion seed varieties under local field conditions while equipping farmers with practical technical knowledge and updated production strategies.
Demonstrating a strong commitment to agricultural development, Municipal Mayor Hon. Engr. Oscar โRichardโ S. Garin Jr., through his representative Mr. Jeryl Nufuar, Executive Assistant from the Office of the Mayor, announced the municipalityโs continued support for local bulb onion growers by allocating funds for the procurement of bulb onion seeds โ a significant investment aimed at further boosting onion production in the municipality.
With the active participation of 100 bulb onion growers, the Field Day served as a valuable platform for learning, collaboration, and innovation. Spearheaded by Mr. Patrick John Vilchez, Farmers Activation Representative, the activity strengthened farmer engagement and encouraged the adoption of improved technologies and best practices.
Through initiatives like this, Miagao continues to move forward in building a more productive, competitive, and resilient onion farming community โ creating greater opportunities for farmers and ensuring sustainable agricultural growth. ๐ฑ๐ง
