Brgy.BIGBIGA--'The GEM of the SOUTH

Bigbiga is the southern most Barangay of Mayantoc.
Bigbiga is one of the first barangays of Mayantoc On December 1916, Gov.Gen.Francis Burton Harrison issued Decree #,96 creating Mayantoc as a municipality with 18 barangays including Bigbiga.
The inauguration took place on Jan.1 1917.
Devasted by WW2, and its distance from the poblacion the growth to progress was slow.
In the mid 60s,Mr.Vicente Lu put up the Bigbiga Sawmill.This created jobs for the residents contributing to the uplift of their economic status.
After the sawmill operation ,came the Asean New Zealand Afforestation Project (ANZAP)which established its office and nursery at the deserted sawmill compound.
This made the place popular as well as raised the economic status of the barangay.
A petition for the establishment of a complete Elem School was submitted to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan during the term of Gov Eliodoro Castro and was approved during the term if Gov.Homonono Sawit.
Today,Bigbiga continues its march to progress.
The barangay celebrates its fiesta on the 2nd Saturday of January to honor and and to offer their gratitude to Sto.Niño.

TWIN FALLS is one of the most tourist spots in Tarlac. It is located at Barangay Bigbiga, Mayantoc.
Anzap Twin falls is one of the most tourist spots in Tarlac. It is located at Barangay Bigbiga, Mayantoc.It is 200 feet waterfalls which the volume of the water varies depending on the season. The area is surrounded by lush greenery and founders. Most of the trips going to the falls may require overnight camping for beginners. The journey is not that difficult and you'll pass through a river and few challenging trails. Some sites give a beautiful view of the river and mountains which are good resting spots
