𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐒 | 𝐒𝐊 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒

Just today, July 31, 2025, the Municipality of Mawab held a one-day Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Performance Functionality Assessment across its 11 barangays. The goal was to evaluate how well each SK Council is performing in serving the youth and their communities.

The assessment team, led by Mr. Ronald A. Dohinog, YDO III of the Provincial Government of Davao de Oro, Youth Development Division, along with Local Youth Development Officers from Maco, Mr. Celso B. Lorica III, and Montevista, Mr. Jan Bensyl L. Alvarez, carefully reviewed the programs, governance, and activities of each council.

At the end of the day, the following SK Councils were recognized as the Top Performers in Mawab:

🥇 Rank 1: SK Council of Brgy. Tuboran
🥈 Rank 2: SK Council of Brgy. Poblacion
🥉 Rank 3: SK Council of Brgy. Malinawon

The SK Functionality Assessment score is categorically classified according to the following adjectival rating values:

0–5 Points (Non-Functional / Poor)
6–39 Points (Low Functional / Basic)
40–55 Points (Moderate Functional / Progressive)
56–80 Points (High Functional / Ideal)

This assessment is a reminder of the important role our young leaders play in building stronger communities. Congratulations to all SK Councils for their dedication and hard work!

We are proud to share that the Local Youth Development Office and the Sangguniang Kabataan Municipal Federation (SKMF) of Mawab were honored during the Social Night (Gabi ng Parangal) of the Davao de Oro SK Summit 2025, held at The Ritz Hotel at Garden Oases, Davao City.

LYDO Mawab received two major awards:

• Recognition for 100% Compliance in the Submission of 2024 Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Reports

• Full Compliance with the SK Full Disclosure Policy Board

These awards reflect the dedication and commitment of our SK officials, youth volunteers, and especially our Local Youth Development Officer, Mr. Roldan A. Sequina, whose leadership and hard work played a vital role in achieving this milestone.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who continues to support youth development in Mawab. This recognition inspires us to push forward and do more for our young people.

The Sangguniang Kabataan Chairpersons, Budget Monitoring Officers, Secretaries, Treasurers and Local Youth Development Officer from the Municipality of Mawab proudly take part in the Davao de Oro SK Summit 2025, held from June 9 to 11, 2025 at The Ritz Hotel at Garden Oases, Davao City.

This province wide gathering brings together youth leaders from across Davao de Oro to enhance their competencies in fiscal management, transparent governance, and accountable leadership laying a strong foundation for a more empowered and responsible Sangguniang Kabataan.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | 𝐒𝐊 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞

Aiming to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective governance in SK operations, the youth council must document and report their programs, activities, and financial transactions to relevant authorities, including the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) and the Commission on Audit (COA). Further, the M&E report allows oversight bodies, including the Local Government Unit (LGU) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), to assess whether SK projects align with youth development goals and priorities.

The SK M&E serves as a tool to ensure that SK funds and resources are utilized properly and that projects benefit the youth sector effectively. Moreover, the data collected helps in evaluating the effectiveness of SK programs and provides insights for future planning and policy adjustments. Through M&E reports, successful initiatives can be identified and replicated in other Sangguniang Kabataan, while gaps and challenges can be addressed through training and technical support.

By complying with this requirement, the youth councils (SK) demonstrate good governance, uphold youth participation in nation-building, and contribute to the continuous improvement of local youth policies and programs.

Below is the submission update on the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Monitoring and Evaluation in Davao de Oro, and we would like to extend our congratulations to the first two municipalities - Mawab and Montevista through the concerted efforts of their Pambayang Pederasyon ng mga Sangguniang Kabataan and Local Youth Development Office for successfully consolidating and submitting the aforementioned report covering the fiscal year 2024.
