The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) joins the nation in celebrating Philippine Creative Industries Month (PCIM), a nationwide celebration of Filipino creativity, talent, and the significant contributions of our creatives and creative industries to national development.

Through Republic Act No. 11904, or the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act, we continue to support the growth and development of the countryโ€™s creative industries, while recognizing and exploring the diverse creative domains that reflect the richness of Filipino culture and imagination.

This Philippine Creative Industries Month, support Filipino creativity! Visit galleries and cultural spaces, watch Filipino films and performances, read and share the works of Filipino writers, listen to original Filipino music, buy locally -- from Filipino artists and creative entrepreneurs --- and celebrate the diverse talents that shape our nationโ€™s creative future.

Sa pagtalakay sa buhay at kabataan ni Rizal, lumilitaw ang isang mahalagang bahagi ng ating lokal na kasaysayan: si Aquรญlina Alquitran, isang yaya o โ€œnurse maidโ€ na nagmula sa Mauban, Quezon, na tumulong sa pag-aalaga sa batang Jose Rizal.

Ayon sa aklat na Dr. Jose P. Rizal: The Timeless Filipino nina Rowena A. Pila at Cecilio D. Duka, naging bahagi ng murang buhay ni Rizal ang mga kuwentong-bayan tungkol sa aswang, nuno sa punso, at tikbalang โ€” mga kuwentong sumasalamin sa kulturang Pilipino noong kanyang panahon.
