The Department of Trade and Industry through RAPID Growth Project proudly marks another milestone with the successful conduct of the Sloping Agricultural Land Technology (SALT), Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and Rehabilitation/Rejuvenation Training held across key agricultural areas in Davao Oriental.

This initiative aims to enhance the productivity and sustainability of cacao and coffee-based farms by equipping local farmers with practical and science-based knowledge on soil conservation, proper farm management, and sustainable rehabilitation techniques.

Through these trainings, participants learned how to:
- Apply Sloping Agricultural Land Technology (SALT) to prevent soil erosion and improve long-term land fertility.
- Implement Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) to ensure product quality, safety, and market competitiveness.
- Adopt Rehabilitation and Rejuvenation methods to revitalize aging crops for improved yield and income.

These capacity-building activities are part of the Rural Agro-enterprise Partnership for Inclusive Development and Growth (RAPID Growth) project under the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in collaboration with local government units, farmer cooperatives, and especially K3A Agricultural Consultancy.

Together, we are building resilient, climate-smart, and market-ready farming communities in Davao Oriental — empowering farmers to achieve sustainable growth and inclusive prosperity.

In Barangay La Union, San Isidro, we marked the occasion with a 𝐂𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲, bringing together the RAPID Growth Project staff of DTI Davao Oriental, K3A Agricultural Consultancy and the La Union Hanson Farmers Association (LUHAFA).

The celebration was made even more meaningful through the collaboration of local coffee artisans, showcasing their artistry and passion in promoting the local coffee industry.

This initiative not only strengthens our community’s commitment to sustainability but also highlights the dedication behind every cup—its rich aroma, distinct flavors, and the hard work of our farmers that make each sip truly special.

As we celebrate the 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮 of coffee in our cups, DTI Davao Oriental, through its RAPID Growth Project, is excited join the cultivation of coffee with a 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 in La Union, San Isidro, Davao Oriental. This initiative aims to enhance coffee production by planting more coffee seeds in the province, ensuring a sustainable supply of quality coffee beans for the future.

Additionally, DTI Davao Oriental collaborates with local coffee artisans to promote and savor every cup for its rich aroma. This initiative encourages coffee lovers to cherish and enjoy every moment spent with their favorite brew.

As 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘂𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀, we are excited to celebrate International Coffee Day. This momentous event has a significant impact on society, fostering greater consumer awareness and understanding of responsibilities.

The Department of Trade and Industry - Davao Oriental through RAPID Growth Project conducts Cacao Technical Productivity Training which includes Sloping Agricultural Land Technology and Good Agricultural Practices for San Isidro Cacao Producers Cooperative (SICAPCO) Batch 3 on September 22-23, 2025 at San Isidro, Davao Oriental.

The Department of Trade and Industry - Davao Oriental, through the RAPID Growth Project, conducted a two-day Technical Productivity Training on September 11-12, 2025. This capability-building program focused on Sloping Agricultural Land Technology and Good Agricultural Practices for the Panikian Cacao Sustainable Farmers Association (PCSFA) Batch 1.

The training was designed for the farmers' organization as a prerequisite to receiving their farm tools and seedlings, which is a requirement before obtaining these agricultural equipment.

The Department of Trade and Industry - Davao Oriental, through the RAPID Growth Project, has partially distributed 72 tools to the Maragatas Agricultural Farmers Association. The beneficiaries received pruning shears and chainsaws. These tools will be essential for the development of their farms as they cultivate the land for improved agricultural practices.

This event is also significant as part of the Davao Oriental Governor's Caravan NLD Nagkakaisang Linngkod Bayan ng Davao Oriental barangay outreach program, which is a unified public service outreach program in Barangay Marayag, Lupon, Davao Oriental.

The Department of Trade and Industry - Davao Oriental thorugh RAPID Growth Project, is excited to announce a 2 day training program on Coffee Technical Productivity. This training will cover Sloping Agricultural Land Technology and Good Agricultural Practices. It is specifically designed for the Oregon Farmer Cooperative (OFARMCO) Batch 2 and will take place on September 8-9, 2025, in Osmeña, Governor Genoroso, Davao Oriental.

Farmers attending this training will learn new technologies and techniques to improve their coffee production. An expert will lead the sessions, sharing practical knowledge that participants can use on their farms.
