DTI has rolled out a range of support packages for MSMEs venturing into this industry cluster. These include marketing facilitation, entrepreneurial training, and business consultations aimed at boosting product quality, market reach, and business sustainability.

PS ORIENTATION | In line with the ongoing campaign of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) against the proliferation of uncertified and substandard products, the DTI Davao Oriental Provincial Office (DTI-DOPO), in collaboration with the DTI Region 11 Consumer Protection Division (CPD), conducted a Product Standards Orientation on Monitoring and Enforcement Process, Markings of Products under Mandatory Certification, and Guidelines and Procedures in Handling Violation on May 22, 2025 in the City of Mati, Davao Oriental.

DTI-DOPO Consumer Protection Section Head Fernale J. Solis welcomed the participants, in behalf of Provincial Director Ma. Joycelyn F. Banlasan. The Resource Speakers from the DTI Region 11 CPD, Division Chief Romeo N. Vasquez Jr. and Trade and Industry Development Specialist Romelyn B. Arnaiz, educated the 30 stakeholders who attended the orientation on regulations, best practices, and procedures for addressing violations to ensure consumer safety and market integrity.

The Department is confident that the local businesses will carry forward the knowledge and commitment to uphold product standards, ensuring consumer safety, regulatory compliance, and a thriving marketplace in Davao Oriental.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) XI and Mindanao Trade Expo Foundation, Inc. (MTEFI) have been partners in improving the products of micro-enterprises. Among their joint projects is the Regional Product Development 2025, which seeks to advance quality and marketability. The activity in Davao Oriental on May 8 has provided micro-enterprises with innovative ideas to further enhance their products.
