Murillo, under the supervision of City Prosecutor Oliver N Saniel, and in representation of OCP Mati City, attended the 1st Quarter Meeting of the City Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Children (CCAT-VAWC) held at the Pelaez Board Room, City Hall Compound, Mati City.

The meeting gathered council members from various agencies to present updates on ongoing programs and initiatives. Discussions focused on addressing the increasing cases of Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and OSAEM, emphasizing the need for a holistic approach, strengthened symposiums, and intensified information dissemination.

Saniel, Chair of the Security, Traffic, and Medical Committee, awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to the City Traffic and Transport Management Office (CTTMO) of Davao City in recognition of its invaluable support to the Prosecutors League of the Philippines (PLP) project, “Swing for Justice 2026,” held on March 13, 2026 at South Pacific Golf, Catalunan Pequeño, Davao City. The award was received by Ret. PCol. Dionisio Abude, Head of CTTMO.

On 24 March 2026, City Prosecutor Oliver N. Saniel attended the 1st Quarter City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) Meeting held at Honey’s Hotel, Matiao, City of Mati.

The meeting was attended by representatives from various government agencies. Updates were presented by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the PNP Mati City Chief of Police, and the CADAC Action Officer.

Fruitful and active discussions were held among the Council members, resulting in a resolution requiring the presentation of updated data at the next quarter’s Council meeting.

On 05 February 2026, City Prosecutor Oliver N. Saniel and PMaj Al Anthony Gumban met to discuss cases involving cyber or internet crimes, as well as cases involving the City of Mati. Further discussed is the collaboration between OCP Mati City and the Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office on workshop training to refresh and improve the competencies of all the police stations in the province.

The meeting was also an opportunity to assess the efforts of the PNP and DOJ in the cases filed and prosecuted in the courts of Davao Oriental. This is in view of the DOJ's thrust for a responsive administration of justice.

30 January 2026 — City Prosecutor Oliver N. Saniel served as a resource speaker at the DepEd Division-Wide Flagship Advocacy held at Honey’s Hotel and Restaurant. He discussed DepEd Order No. 55, s. 2013, focusing on bullying, cyberbullying, and legal accountability.

Student leaders and their teacher-advisers from 17 districts of Davao Oriental learned about preventing bullying, reporting mechanisms, legal remedies, and the consequences of harmful behavior online and offline.

On 29 January 2026, PCOL Ritchie Bucol made a new year courtesy visit to City Prosecutor Oliver N Saniel at the OCP Mati City, Provincial Government Center, Brgy Dahican, City of Mati. This is a time-honored tradition to renew partnership engagement and programs for the PNP and the DOJ vision and mission.

Most importantly, both offices discussed the flagship project for the improvement of the cases filed in the Office and the evidence gathered from the investigation and intelligence personnel. With the hopes of serving the people of Davao Oriental and City of Mati in particular.

28 January 2026. City Prosecutor Oliver N Saniel as a resource speaker during the 3-Day Seminar on Section 21 of RA 9165 and Recent Jurisprudence held at Sambisig Hall, PRO11, Camp Sgt. Quintin Merecido, Davao City. This training was attended by officers, case investigators, and intelligence operatives of all police stations in the region.

The lecture covered DOJ Circular Nos. 20 and 15, emphasizing proper case build-up, documentation, and strict compliance with legal procedures to strengthen the prosecution of drug-related cases.

City Prosecutor Oliver N. Saniel and Deputy City Prosecutor Anna Khristine M. Mongaya-Magno attended the Workshop on Terrorism Financing and Money Laundering for Chiefs and Deputies of Region XI on January 20–21, 2026, at SEDA Hotel, Davao City.

The workshop, organized by Regional Prosecutor Janet Grace B. Dalisay-Fabrero in partnership with the U.S. Department of Justice – Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (US DOJ OPDAT), featured discussions by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) and the sharing of international best practices on addressing Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing cases.

The activity strengthened the capacity of prosecutors in Region XI to effectively investigate and prosecute ML and TF cases.
