🌱 2-DAY TRAINING ON ORGANIC VEGETABLE PRODUCTION AND VERMICOMPOSTING🌱
The 2-Day Training on Organic Vegetable Production and Vermicomposting was successfully conducted on August 25–26, 2026 at Barangay Asinan, Matanao, Davao del Sur, through the partnership of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Local Government Unit of Matanao, under the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) Program.
This initiative was made possible through the leadership and support of Mayor Irick Aldaba Agbon, who continues to champion programs that empower farmers and communities through sustainable and innovative agricultural practices. 🌱
The training aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of participants on organic vegetable production and vermicomposting, promoting practical, sustainable, and science-based agricultural technologies. 🌿🥬🪱
Through lectures and hands-on activities, participants learned proper organic vegetable production practices and the preparation and utilization of vermicompost to improve soil health and support healthy crop growth.
This collaborative effort reflects the commitment of DOST and LGU Matanao to empower local communities through Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) while promoting sustainable agriculture, food security, environmental stewardship, and improved livelihood opportunities.
