BFP Matalam Ensures Fire-Free Undas 2025

Matalam, Cotabato (November 2, 2025) — The Bureau of Fire Protection – Matalam Fire Station, under the leadership of Acting Municipal Fire Marshal FINSP SUNNY G TOMAS, successfully implemented Oplan Kaluluwa 2025 to ensure a peaceful, orderly, and fire-free observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.

In line with Oplan Kaluluwa 2025, BFP Matalam personnel were strategically deployed in Matalam Public cemetery and St. Jude Memorial park to maintain fire suppression readiness and provide First Aid Service Team (FAST) assistance to the visiting public.
As part of the public service effort, BFP Matalam offered free drinking water and free blood pressure (BP) monitoring), while ensuring the availability of medical kits, chairs, and first aid supplies for the safety and comfort of everyone attending the All Saints’ Day observance.

The success of Oplan Kaluluwa 2025 was made possible through the cooperation and coordination of the PNP, MDRRMO, RHU, Barangay Officials, Volunteers, and the general public, who worked hand in hand with the BFP Matalam to ensure a safe and fire-free Undas 2025 for all.

BFP Matalam Ensures Safe and Peaceful Undas 2025

Matalam, Cotabato (November 1, 2025) — The Bureau of Fire Protection – Matalam Fire Station, under the leadership of Acting Municipal Fire Marshal FINSP SUNNY G. TOMAS, continues to ensure a peaceful and safe observance of Undas 2025 during All Saints’ Day.

BFP Matalam personnel were deployed at Matalam Public Cemetery and St. Jude Memorial Park to provide fire suppression readiness and First Aid Service Team (FAST) assistance.

The team also offered free drinking water and free blood pressure (BP) monitoring, and made sure medical kits and chairs were available for the comfort and safety of visitors.

In addition, BFP Matalam conducted rekorida activities to remind the public about fire safety and prevention tips during the observance of Undas 2025. The public is reminded to always extinguish candles properly before leaving the gravesite, avoid burning dried leaves and garbage near flammable materials, and refrain from leaving children unattended near open flames. Visitors are also encouraged to bring only the needed candles, use safe candle holders, and keep matches and lighters out of children’s reach. Let us all do our part in ensuring a fire-free and safe Undas celebration.

MERT Members Undergo Intensive Basic Rope Rescue Techniques Training

Matalam, Cotabato (October 27–31, 2025) — The Bureau of Fire Protection – Matalam Fire Station, under the leadership of Acting Municipal Fire Marshal FINSP SUNNY G TOMAS, successfully conducted a Five-Day Basic Rope Rescue Techniques (BRRT) Training for the Matalam Emergency Response Team (MERT).

The training was led by FO3 Ramil G. Recare and FO2 Ian Glenn T. Navidad, with the assistance of FO1 Christopher John S. Fajardo, held at the LGU Conference Hall, Municipal Compound, Matalam, Cotabato.

The course covered essential skills and techniques for safely performing rope rescues in various scenarios, ensuring that all participants are well-equipped to respond effectively during emergency situations.

The BFP Matalam Fire Station extends its appreciation to all participants and facilitators for their active involvement and commitment to public safety and emergency preparedness.

Matalam, Cotabato (October 30, 2025) — The Office of the Regional Fire Director XII, under the leadership of FCSUPT JERRY C LAMANERO, DSC, conducted the Operational Readiness Site Inspection and Troop Evaluation (ORSITE) at BFP Matalam Fire Station, Matalam, Cotabato.

The activity was spearheaded by FSUPT LEILANI L BANGELIS, together with FSINSP LINDON P NARVAZA, FINSP MARK JOSEPH N PELIPEL, and other non-commissioned officers from BFP Regional Office XII.

The ORSITE aims to ensure that all fire stations across the region maintain a high level of operational readiness and capability. The inspection covered the preparedness of personnel, condition of station facilities and fire trucks, review of administrative documents, and evaluation of emergency response procedures.

This initiative reinforces the Bureau of Fire Protection’s commitment to discipline, professionalism, and public service excellence, ensuring that all firefighters are well-prepared and capable of fulfilling their duties effectively during emergencies.

BFP MATALAM ACTIVATES OPLAN KALULUWA 2025

Matalam, Cotabato (October 28–31, 2025) — The Bureau of Fire Protection – Matalam Fire Station, under the leadership of Acting Municipal Fire Marshal FINSP SUNNY G TOMAS, has activated OPLAN KALULUWA 2025 effective October 28 to November 2, 2025.

BFP Matalam personnel were deployed at the Matalam Public Terminal during the first two days and later proceeded to the Matalam Public Cemetery and St. Jude Memorial Park to provide Fire Suppression and BFP First Aid Service Team (FAST) assistance.
As part of the operation, BFP Matalam also established a Motorist Assistance Desk, offered Free Water and Free Blood Pressure (BP) Taking, and ensured the availability of medical kits and chairs for the convenience and safety of the visiting public. The team likewise conducted rekorida on fire safety and prevention reminders to raise public awareness during the observance of Undas 2025.

Earlier today, BFP Officers and personnel, headed by FINSP MARK JOSEPH N PELIPEL from the Office of the Regional Director, BFP Region XII, and personnel from the Office of the Provincial Fire Marshal – Cotabato, conducted on-site monitoring and inspection separately at the St. Jude Memorial Park and the Matalam Public Cemetery to ensure the effective implementation of OPLAN KALULUWA 2025 and to further intensify fire safety measures.

BFP Matalam reminds everyone to always prioritize fire safety — avoid leaving lighted candles unattended, keep flammable materials away, and remain vigilant at all times to help ensure a safe and meaningful Undas celebration. Your safety is our priority!

BFP Matalam Joins MATALAM MAKE 4.0

Matalam, Cotabato (October 18, 2025)- The Bureau of Fire Protection – Matalam Fire Station, under the leadership of Acting Municipal Fire Marshal FINSP SUNNY G TOMAS, conducted water showering activities in support of the MATALAM Municipal Advocates of Kabataan Empowerment (MAKE) 4.0 Youth Summit held at Matalam High School, Matalam, Cotabato.

The activity, with the theme “Lead with Values, Live with Purpose,” aimed to promote the spirit of youth empowerment and community engagement.

BFP Matalam remains steadfast in its commitment to extend assistance and participate in various community programs that promote public welfare, strengthen collaboration, and inspire active involvement among the youth and citizens of the municipality.
