In support of the ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐š๐๐š ๐„๐ฌ๐ค๐ฐ๐ž๐ฅ๐š ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ” ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ฆ๐ž, โ€œ๐๐š๐ฒ๐š๐ง๐ข๐ก๐š๐ง ๐ฌ๐š ๐๐š๐š๐ซ๐š๐ฅ๐š๐ง: ๐๐š๐ ๐ค๐š๐ค๐š๐ข๐ฌ๐š ๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐š ๐ฌ๐š ๐Š๐š๐š๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐š๐ง ๐š๐ญ ๐Š๐š๐š๐ฅ๐š๐ฆ๐š๐ง the Municipal Government of Matag-ob successfully conducted a Fruit-Bearing Tree Planting Activity through the Himorasak Tig-ob Ani Special Program on Fruit-Bearing Tree and High Value Crop Development.

This meaningful activity was graced by the presence of Dr. Careyna R. Nasbang, District Supervisor; Mrs. Araceli T. Sanoria, School Principal of Matag- ob Central School; Hon. Luz Baldero, SB Member and Chairperson on Education; Hon. Joey Tacoy, Liga ng mga Barangay President; and Hon. Rodrigo Demeterio, Barangay Captain of Riverside, together with teachers, parents, stakeholders, and learners who united in the spirit of bayanihan for education and environmental sustainability.

Led by the vision of ๐Œ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐œ๐ข๐ฉ๐š๐ฅ ๐Œ๐š๐ฒ๐จ๐ซ ๐‡๐จ๐ง. ๐๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐จ ๐†. ๐“๐š๐œ๐จ๐ฒ, this initiative promotes food security, environmental stewardship, and agricultural development as Matag-ob continues its journey toward becoming the Fruit Basket of Eastern Visayas.

Mapping our soils, shaping our future: Matag-ob conducts initial soil sampling to support the Predictive Digital Soil Mapping (PDSM) Project.

As part of the ongoing Predictive Digital Soil Mapping (PDSM) Project, the Municipality of Matag-ob successfully conducted an initial soil sampling activity on May 28, 2026, in six (6) barangays: Balagtas, San Vicente, Sto. Rosario, Imelda, Bonoy, and Cansoso.

A total of ten (10) soil samples were collected from each barangay to support the development of accurate and science-based soil information that will contribute to improved agricultural planning, soil management, and sustainable agricultural development in the municipality.

The activity was actively participated in by the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) headed by Mrs. Claudia C. Ibaรฑez,the Municipal Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Unit (MABEU) led by Engr. John Mark P. Chua, and the Special Program, demonstrating a collaborative effort in advancing agricultural innovation and data-driven decision-making.

We also encourage our farmers, Barangay Agricultural and Fishery Councils (BAFCs), and other stakeholders to actively participate and support the succeeding soil sampling activities. Through collective cooperation and shared commitment, we can ensure the success of the PDSM Project and contribute to a more productive, resilient, and sustainable agricultural sector for the Municipality of Matag-ob.

The Municipality of Matag-ob successfully conducted a Coordination Meeting on the Introduction of the Predictive Digital Soil Mapping (PDSM) Project led by Dr. Jeremy P. Mondejar of CTUโ€“Barili Campus, together with key municipal offices and stakeholders.

The activity highlighted the project overview, the collaborative roles of the Municipal Agriculture Office headed by ๐Œ๐ซ๐ฌ. ๐‚๐ฅ๐š๐ฎ๐๐ข๐š ๐‚. ๐ˆ๐›๐šรฑ๐ž๐ณ, the Municipal Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Unit led by ๐„๐ง๐ ๐ซ. ๐‰๐จ๐ก๐ง ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ค ๐. ๐‚๐ก๐ฎ๐š, and the Special Program Office, as well as a practical workshop on the application of the UTM Geo Map and its importance in accurate data gathering and mapping.

The PDSM Project marks a significant milestone toward data-driven and science-based agricultural development, providing valuable soil information to support smarter planning, informed decision-making, and sustainable resource management for the Municipality of Matag-ob.

As part of the Local Government Unitโ€™s continued support for community-based livelihood programs, a deworming and vaccination activity for chicks was successfully conducted for the beneficiaries of the Gamefowl Production and Livelihood Program.

The activity aimed to promote proper gamefowl health management through timely vaccination and deworming to ensure healthier and more productive chicks. Beneficiaries were also guided on responsible animal care and sustainable gamefowl production practices.

Through this initiative, the LGU continues to strengthen livelihood opportunities, support local farmers, and promote agricultural productivity within the community.

The LGU extends its sincere appreciation to all agricultural staff, partner agencies, and beneficiaries for their active participation and cooperation during the activity.
