𝙄𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙚: 𝘾𝙈𝙎𝙃𝙎, 𝙈𝙉𝘾𝙃𝙎 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙥𝙚𝙣 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙢 𝙎𝙤𝙡𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙄𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘿𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥

CITY OF MASBATE - Student researchers from the City of Masbate Science High School (CMSHS) and Masbate National Comprehensive High School (MNCHS) gained valuable problem solving skills through the Ideation and Design Thinking Workshop conducted by DOST-Masbate on 02 September 2026 at CMSHS for the morning session, and at MNCHS in the afternoon.

Entitled "𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙄𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 & 𝘿𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜: 𝙀𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙃𝙞𝙜𝙝 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨", the activity sought to equip students with the steps and principles of the Design Thinking process, and how to utilize it in their research projects aimed at solving the various communities that they encounter in their community.

The training was facilitated by Engr. Jose Ryan Amante, Supervising Science Research Specialist, and Ms. May Den Manacho, Senior Science Research Specialist, of DOST-Masbate, who both guided the students through the process using interconnected workshops and group activities.

Facilitators also promoted the conduct of the 10th Imake.wemake: create innovate collaborate competition, which is a great opportunity for the students to apply their learnings in the training.

DOST-Masbate remains true in its belief that innovations can come from anyone. Through the training, it promotes the idea to Masbateño students and encourages them to foster their innovative solutions and ideas that will help solve the different community problems faced in Masbate.

🌟 𝘿𝙊𝙎𝙏 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙣: 𝙃𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙙-𝙊𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙙 𝙨𝙖 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝟭𝟮 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙗𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙤

Hatid ng DOST-Masbate ang 2027 DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarships Caravan sa 11 paaralan mula sa 6 na munisipalidad ng Masbate noong 11–13 Agosto 2026. Layunin ng caravan na mailapit sa mga Grade 12 students ang mahahalagang impormasyon tungkol sa kwalipikasyon, requirements, at online application para sa Merit at RA 7687 Scholarships at maihatid ang scholarship opportunities sa mga kabataang Masbateño na nangangarap na makapagpatuloy ng pag-aaral sa larangan ng Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) sa Kolehiyo.

Umabot sa 730 students, 319 lalaki at 411 babae ang nakibahagi sa caravan mula sa mga sumusunod na paaralan:

DOST-Masbate is currently conducting the 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 at the City of Masbate Science High School in Brgy. Nursery and Masbate National Comprehensive High School along Quezon St., City of Masbate.

The activity aims to introduce high school students to ideation and design thinking as tools for developing innovative and practical solutions to real-world challenges. Through interactive discussions and activities, the students are encouraged to think creatively, identify problems, and transform their ideas into potential innovations.

The sessions are facilitated by Engr. Jose Ryan R. Amante, Supervising Science Research Specialist, and Ms. May Den R. Manacho, Senior Science Research Specialist, of DOST-Masbate, as the students explore how creativity, critical thinking, and innovation can be translated into meaningful solutions.
