The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan recently welcomed graduating BS Chemical Engineering students from the College of Engineering and Technology of Adamson University, for an industry immersion in the Freeport on 19 May 2026.

The students visited several FAB-based enterprises, including Perpetual Prime Manufacturing Inc., BFD Global Footwear Manufacturing Inc., Essilor Manufacturing Philippines, Inc., and Dunlop International (Philippines), Inc. During the activity, they observed actual operations and gained insights into the companies’ industry practices, quality standards, workplace processes, and production environments.

The industry immersion allowed the students to connect their academic learning with real-world applications, particularly in manufacturing, process management, quality control, and industrial operations. It also gave them a closer look at how FAB locators maintain efficiency, comply with established standards, and contribute to the growth of the Freeport’s industrial sector.

Through this activity, AFAB continues to support practical learning and provide students with meaningful exposure to real-world industrial environments, helping prepare future professionals for careers in engineering and related fields.

As part of the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Month celebration, the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) recognized employees and departments that have demonstrated outstanding performance in public service delivery.

Through the Recognition of High-Performing Frontliners, employees from departments with services enrolled in the Citizens' Charter were recognized for their integrity, commitment, and excellence in providing efficient and quality service to clients.

AFAB also conferred the Recognition of Departments with Best Practices, recognizing the offices that demonstrated excellence in service delivery based on their submitted 2025 Client Satisfaction Measurement Reports. The recognition honors the importance of continuously improving systems and processes to enhance client experience and strengthen public trust.

The EODB Month celebration is a reminder of AFAB's mission to uphold public trust and promote a culture of service excellence.

The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), in coordination with the Edu-Connect Southeast Asia Association, the University of the Philippines Center for Local and Regional Governance (UP CLRG), and the Center for Policy and Executive Development (CPED), successfully conducted the ARTA Leadership Conference.

Dr. Eing Ming Wu, Senior Fellow of the University of the Philippines National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP NCPAG) and Visiting Professor at the UP System and UP NCPAG, served as the resource speaker for the event. He delivered a presentation titled “The Aesthetics of Transparency Requires Integrity and Neutrality: Building the National Integrity System through Public Genetic Reengineering for Good Governance and Good Life.”

The conference gathered AFAB key officials and select personnel in a meaningful discussion on promoting good governance for the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) community and stakeholders. The session emphasized the importance of transparency in strengthening public institutions and enhancing public trust.

Through initiatives such as this, AFAB continues to demonstrate its commitment to upholding integrity, commitment, and excellence in its mandate to create endless opportunities for the benefit of the public it serves.

𝐀𝐅𝐀𝐁 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐂𝐑𝐊 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞

The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) welcomed representatives from Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (LIPAD) Corporation, Clark International Airport (CRK) partner airlines EVA Air and FedEx, the Bureau of Customs - Port of Clark, and FAB Locators during the CRK x AFAB Cargo Product Update held on 21 May 2026.

In his opening message, Atty. Lawrence Leo K. Pelaez, Department Manager of the FAB Enterprise Department, emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration among freeports and economic zones in North and Central Luzon to support efficient cargo movement and improved logistics services for investors and locators.

The engagement forms part of AFAB’s FAB Speaks activities to strengthen relationships with stakeholders and support the agency’s ongoing initiatives for the continued growth and competitiveness of businesses within the Freeport Area of Bataan.

The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), in partnership with the Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch No. III, conducted the seminar titled “Building a Balanced Workplace: Strategies for Workers’ Engagement and Retention, Detecting and Addressing Wage Distortion, Ensuring Discipline and Promoting Safe Spaces” on 20 May 2026.

The seminar gathered HR managers and personnel from various FAB Enterprises, together with representatives from the Coalition of Labor Unions in Bataan (CLUB), to strengthen labor-management relations and promote productive and inclusive workplaces within the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB).

Participants gained insights on employee engagement and retention, proper handling of wage distortion concerns, workplace discipline anchored on rights and responsibilities, and compliance with Safe Spaces policies.

AFAB continues to support initiatives that strengthen positive working relationships between management and workers and promoting the welfare and well-being of the FAB workforce.

In line with the celebration of Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Month, the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) launched its Interactive Screen to provide the public convenient access to the Citizens’ Charter and information on various AFAB’s frontline transactions.

The launch will improve client experience through seamless transactions with the AFAB. Using the Interactive Screen, clients may easily view service procedures, documentary requirements, processing timelines, and other essential information, helping streamline transactions.

This forms part of AFAB’s commitment to transparent, efficient, and responsive governance in support of the Anti-Red Tape Authority’s Ease of Doing Business initiatives.

The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) joined the nationwide celebration of Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Month, demonstrating its commitment to delivering faster and more responsive public service for the FAB Community.

In support of the initiatives of the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), AFAB implements programs that improves frontline government services, including the implementation of the EODB Lane for High-Impact Services and the launching of an Interactive Screen to provide easier access to Citizens’ Charter requirements and service information.

AFAB’s celebration also recognizes outstanding employees and departments for their dedication to service excellence through the Recognition of High-Performing Frontliners and Recognition of Departments with Best Practices based on the submitted 2025 Client Satisfaction Measurement Reports.

In his message, AFAB Administrator and CEO Hussein P. Pangandaman emphasized that public service must always be anchored on integrity, commitment, and excellence.

“The public deserves the best. This is where we stand - with Integrity, Commitment, and Excellence. Isapuso natin ang pagsisilbing dama ng taong bayan,” he said.

He also magnified the broader impact of AFAB’s work on the lives of workers, families, and communities in Bataan and neighboring provinces, reminding employees that every action and decision in government service carries a direct impact on the public.

The EODB Month celebration serves as a reminder of AFAB’s continuing mission to uphold public trust through efficient public service.

The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan continues to support the national government’s push for digital transformation and smarter public service delivery through e-Governance initiatives. As the government systems evolve through digitalization, AFAB affirms its commitment to improve the agency’s operational efficiency and service accessibility for enterprises, workers, and the entire Freeport Area of Bataan community.

The AFAB management team attended the GOVX.0 Philippines Summit held on 5 to 6 May 2026 at the Manila Marriott Hotel alongside senior officials and representatives from National Government Agencies and Local Government Units. The summit served as a platform for evaluating emerging technologies, exchanging best practices, and collaborating with technology innovators in advancing digital governance in the country.

Representing AFAB during the summit were Freeport Facilities Department Manager Hazel N. De Guzman, Legal Department Manager Atty. Ma. Rosanna C. Lucio, Corporate Planning Department Manager Cristina F. Rodrigo, FAB Enterprise Department Manager Atty. Lawrence E. Pelaez, Enterprise Assistance Division Manager Francis Anthony B. 𝐀𝐅𝐀𝐁, 𝐏𝐈𝐀 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐰 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐀𝐁 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) Public Information Team, through AFAB Chief of Staff Augusto Kimpo, met with Director-General Katherine "Kat" Chloe S. De Castro of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), to discuss partnership to strengthen public awareness and investment promotion initiatives for the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB).

During the discussion, both parties explored areas of cooperation that will be formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement currently being drafted between the agencies.

AFAB expressed appreciation for PIA’s openness in helping communicate the FAB’s value proposition, locator success stories, and priority investment sectors to broader audiences, generating increased investor interest nationwide.

As part of the initial steps, the AFAB has begun consolidating key promotional materials to support future content development and coordinated communication efforts with PIA.
