Look | The Local Government Unit of Maripipi actively participated in the Orientation-Workshop on the Submission and Maintenance of Local Cultural Inventories (LCIs) held on August 27–28, 2026 at the Governor’s Hall, Capitol Compound, Brgy. Calumpang, Naval, Biliran.

The training was conducted by the Provincial Government of Biliran, in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) – Philippine Registry of Heritage (PRH) Office, to enhance the capacity of local government personnel in the proper documentation, submission, and maintenance of Local Cultural Inventories.

Through this initiative, the LGU Maripipi continues to strengthen its commitment to identifying, documenting, preserving, and promoting the municipality’s rich cultural heritage and local traditions.

Together, let us preserve the stories, places, traditions, and cultural treasures that make Maripipi: Island of Love truly unique.

FOR THE LOVE OF DANCE

Get ready, Maripipi! The stage is set for an exciting night of rhythm, creativity, energy, and passion as we bring you “For the Love of Dance” — Street & HipHop Dance Competition, one of the highlights of our Cultural Night celebration.

Dance groups from Maripipi may represent barangays, schools, youth organizations, community organizations, registered dance groups, and other organizations approved by the organizing committee.

DANCE GROUP REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 8 dancers
Maximum of 15 dancers
Performance time: 5–8 minutes

Groups may showcase HipHop, Street Dance, Breaking, Popping, Locking, Krumping, Contemporary Fusion, Freestyle, Creative Choreography, Group Formations, and other appropriate dance styles.

PRIZES
Champion — ₱6,000 + Plaque
1st Runner-Up — ₱4,000 + Plaque
2nd Runner-Up — ₱3,000 + Plaque

IMPORTANT DATES
Submission of Entries: September 1–15, 2026
Audition/Elimination: September 20, 2026
Competition Night: September 27, 2026 — Cultural Night

Only 5 finalists will advance to the competition night. All submitted entries will undergo an audition and elimination process to select the five best groups.

This process will help ensure quality performances, proper preparation, and a smooth competition program while giving finalists enough time to polish their choreography and production.
