Thousands of individuals from different provinces of ARMM flocked the streets of Cotabato City on December 10 to show support for the historic launch of the campaign for the ratification of the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL).

ARMM Governor Mujiv Hataman welcomed the attendees saying that the seat of power belongs to the people.

“Welcome na welcome po kayo dito, sa inyo ang complex na ito. Dati ang tawag po dito sa opisinang nasa likod ay Office of the Regional Governor, binago ko po yan at tinawag na Office of the Bangsamoro People,” he said.

“Kayo ang makapangyarihan sa January 21, hindi mabubuo ang BOL kung wala kayo. Pero ang challenge sa atin ngayon, paano natin ipapaliwanag sa ibang hindi nakakaunawa ang kahalagahan ng BOL,” he added acknowledging the challenges the BOL will face.

Hataman however assured the people that he supports the ratification and he will voluntarily vacate his post once the ratification ends.

“Once na ma-ratify ang BOL, personal at boluntaryo akong bababa sa aking pwesto upang bigyang daan ang mga kapatid natin sa Bangsamoro Transitional Authority na pamunuan at gawin ang mga nararapat para sa Bangsamoro.” (Bureau of Public Information)
