𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: The Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LDS PPO), under the leadership of 𝗣𝗖𝗢𝗟 𝗖𝗔𝗘𝗭𝗔𝗥 𝗣 𝗖𝗔𝗕𝗨𝗛𝗔𝗧, Provincial Director, convened the Provincial Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (PAGPTD) and Technical Working Group (TWG) Meeting on August 27, 2026, at the GVM Sr. Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp Bagong Amai Pak-Pak, Marawi City.

The meeting was attended by PAGPTD Chairperson 𝗕𝗔𝗘𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗥𝗔 𝗦𝗔𝗕𝗗𝗨𝗟𝗟𝗔𝗛, Secretary 𝗡𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗬𝗔 𝗟𝗨𝗖𝗠𝗔𝗡, and members 𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗔𝗛 𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗡𝗔 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗜-𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗖𝗔𝗡, 𝗡𝗢𝗡𝗜 𝗟𝗔𝗢, 𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗢𝗡𝗚 𝗔. 𝗦𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗡𝗜, 𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗬. 𝗦𝗢𝗛𝗔𝗜𝗥𝗔 𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗚, and 𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗔𝗛 𝗟𝗨𝗖𝗠𝗔𝗡, together with the TWG led by 𝗣𝗟𝗧𝗖𝗢𝗟 𝗝𝗨𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗢 𝗝𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗦, DPDA/Chairman, and members 𝗣𝗟𝗧𝗖𝗢𝗟 𝗝𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗛𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗣𝗛𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗚, DPDA; 𝗣𝗟𝗧𝗖𝗢𝗟 𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗛𝗨𝗗𝗗𝗜𝗡 𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗥, C, PCADU; 𝗣𝗟𝗧𝗖𝗢𝗟 𝗝𝗢𝗦𝗨𝗘 𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗢𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗬𝗘𝗦, C, PPSMU; and other TWG members.

The activity featured the oath-taking and formal introduction of the newly installed PAGPTD members, along with discussions on the institutionalization of police transformation and development initiatives. The meeting also provided an avenue to address actionable items and explore proposed programs, including a Peace Summit, Lecture Series, and School Visitation initiatives, aimed at strengthening stakeholder collaboration and advancing police transformation and development in Lanao del Sur.

Matalin, Malabang, Lanao del Sur.

The activity was initiated by the 101st Infantry Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, PA, under the leadership of BGEN YASSER R BARA, Commander, and graced by Atty. Renault C. Macarambon, Provincial Election Supervisor, Lanao del Sur/ARED, BARMM.

Personnel from the 2nd PMFC, Calanogas MPS, Malabang MPS, Picong MPS, Balabagan MPS, and Kapatagan MPS joined the send-off. These forces will be utilized to augment security operations for the September 14, 2026 BPE, in support of a safe, peaceful, orderly, and fair election.

₱15.29-MILLION WORTH OF SMUGGLED CI******ES SEIZED; 4 ARRESTED IN MARANTAO, LANAO DEL SUR

MARANTAO, LANAO DEL SUR — A joint operation conducted by the CIDG Lanao del Sur Provincial Field Unit (PFU) and Marantao Municipal Police Station (MPS), in coordination with the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), resulted in the confiscation of approximately Php15,290.000.00 worth of assorted smuggled ci******es and the arrest of four individuals on August 21, 2026, in Barangay Matampay, Marantao, Lanao del Sur.

The operation stemmed from an intelligence-driven report received by Marantao MPS regarding the alleged unlawful importation and transport of smuggled ci******es from Picong, Lanao del Sur, reportedly bound for Maguing as the intended drop-off point. Validation of the information led to the interception of two truck vans loaded with undocumented to***co products.

During the operation, authorities confiscated 383 master cases of BOSQU ci******es, containing 50 reams each, and 173 master cases of Greenhill Menthol ci******es, also containing 50 reams each. Two vehicles used in the transport were likewise seized, including one JMC N730 closed van and one red Mitsubishi 10-footer truck van.

The seized to***co products were estimated to be worth Php15,290.000.00, while the total value of the confiscated evidence, including the vehicles, amounted to approximately Php18,290.000.00.

The operation was conducted under OPLAN MEGASHOPPER, targeting the unlawful importation and transportation of to***co products in violation of RA 10643 (Graphic Health Warnings Law), RA 10863 (Customs Modernization and Tariff Act), and RA 12022 (Anti-Agricultural Economic Sabotage Act).

The four arrested individuals were informed of the cause of their arrest and apprised of their constitutional rights. They, together with the confiscated evidence, were brought to the CIDG Lanao del Sur PFU for proper documentation and disposition.

PCOL CAEZAR P CABUHAT, Provincial Director, Lanao del Sur PPO, commended the participating units for their effective coordination and successful operation, emphasizing the importance of sustained enforcement efforts against the illegal smuggling and distribution of to***co products in the province.

The Marawi Langkit Exhibit 2026, organized by the City Government of Marawi, forms part of the 86th Charter Day Celebration of Marawi City. Spearheaded by Mayor Shairf Zain Gandamra and Vice Mayor Majul Gandamra, the exhibit provides an avenue to showcase the artistry and craftsmanship that reflect the rich Meranaw culture and heritage, while supporting local artisans and communities.

The conference featured updates on police operations, accomplishments, ongoing activities, and preparations for the 2026 BARMM Parliamentary Election (BPE), including Regional Office updates and other matters concerning peace, security, and public order in the province.

The meeting, presided over by PCOL REXMEL G REYES, DRDO/Deputy RTG/RSOTG Commander, brought together the Regional Staff, OIC, RMFB 14-A, concerned RTG members and staff, as well as Provincial and City Police Directors participated virtually.

The conference provided updates on election security preparations and operational readiness, with emphasis on personnel deployment, logistical resources, inter-agency coordination, and other measures to ensure adequate police support for the safe, secure, and peaceful conduct of the 2026 BPE.

PHP2.04 Million Worth of Suspected Shabu Seized in Maguing, Lanao del Sur

A joint police operation led by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit, PRO BAR (RDEU PRO BAR), together with the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Special Operations Group, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Maguing Municipal Police Station, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, and 1403rd Regional Mobile Force Company of RMFB 14-A, resulted in the seizure of approximately 300 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of PHP2,040,000.00 during a buy-bust operation on August 19, 2026, in Barangay Bato-Bato, Maguing, Lanao del Sur.

During the operation, a suspect identified as alias “Laky” and his unidentified male companion allegedly sold three sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu to a police poseur-buyer.

Following the successful consummation of the transaction and as the police team moved to effect the arrest, the suspect allegedly resisted and fired at the operating police officers, prompting the team to return fire in response to the immediate threat.

Alias “Laky” sustained a gunshot wound and was immediately brought to Tamparan District Hospital for medical treatment but was later pronounced dead by the attending physician. His unidentified companion managed to escape and remains at large.

Recovered during the operation were approximately 300 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP2,040,000.00, buy-bust money, one Springfield Armory .45 caliber pistol, Serial No. M7884, with magazine and ammunition, one mobile phone, one driver’s license, one brown sling bag, and four fired cartridge cases believed to be caliber .45.

All recovered items will be submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit BAR for examination and proper disposition, while the SOCO Team processed the encounter site.
