We are honored to welcome representatives from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), together with Philippine Deputy Head Edwin Carrie, officials from the Department of Energy, local stakeholders, and medical professionals from Lanao.

During their visit, they expressed their appreciation for the condition of our Provincial Jail. For many of them, it was their first time to see a facility that is not only clean, but also highly organized.

They also highlighted the good ventilation of the facility and commended the overall management and operations of the jail.

We are truly grateful for their kind words and recognition. This motivates us to continue improving our services and maintaining a safe, humane, and well-managed environment for all.

🌙 Eid Mubarak

Even behind bars, the spirit of Ramadhan remains strong, seen in quiet prayers, discipline, and sincere sacrifice.

Sa bawat araw ng pag-aayuno at panalangin, makikita ang tunay na pagbabago sa puso ng ating mga PDL.

Their journey reminds us that faith grows even in the most unexpected places, and sometimes, closeness to Allah is found in silence and reflection.

Hindi hadlang ang sitwasyon upang muling magbalik-loob at magpatuloy sa tamang landas.

Today, we honor their strength, patience, and renewed hope.
Isang paalala na ang tunay na kalayaan ay nagsisimula sa loob ng puso.

With grateful hearts, we once again extend our deepest appreciation to the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur, especially to Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto Adiong Jr. and Vice Governor Mohammad Khalid “Mujam” Rakiin Adiong for their compassion and generosity toward our Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).

Through the distribution of hygiene kits including toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, Safeguard soap, detergent bars, deodorant, and traditional garments(kimon and mokna) they have not only provided basic necessities but have also restored dignity, hope, and spiritual readiness as we prepare for the blessed month of Ramadan.

We are reminded that before giving zakah, we begin with those closest to us. And before we stand in prayer before Allah, we must ensure that we are clean and pure. In this same spirit, this meaningful act allows our PDLs to observe Ramadan with cleanliness, dignity, and renewed faith.

Ramadan is a time of mercy, reflection, and renewal. Through this initiative, our PDLs are reminded that they are not forgotten that they remain part of a compassionate and caring community.

May Allah reward Governor Bombit and Vice Governor Mujam for their kindness, leadership, and continued service to the people.

Today, the Provincial Jail of Lanao Del Sur welcomed visiting legal partners, including a delegation from Manila, as it hosted a full day of official visits and coordination activities alongside scheduled institutional meetings.

Representatives from the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO–BARMM) and the Humanitarian Legal Assistance Foundation (HLA F) carried out approved coordination and documentation activities in close coordination with jail authorities.

The PAO team conducted video documentation in compliance with Central Office requirements, ensuring strict observance of jail regulations and the rights of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).

The HLAF delegation from Manila engaged in coordination for the conduct of Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) to support evidence-based policy reforms aimed at improving access to health services for PDLs, particularly pregnant PDLs, postpartum mothers, and their babies.

In addition, a project team from the DOST-FPRDI visited the facility for project-related coordination and initial interviews as part of an ongoing research.

All activities were implemented in an orderly manner and in full compliance with existing rules and protocols, amid a full schedule of official engagements.

These engagements reflect strengthened inter-agency collaboration and a shared commitment to a humane, rights-based, and responsive justice system. We thank our partners for their continued cooperation and support.

PROVINCIAL JAIL OF LANAO DEL SUR CONDUCTS QUICK RESPONSE TRAINING

The Provincial Jail of Lanao del Sur successfully conducted a Quick Response Training from December 28–30, 2026 at the Provincial Jail Compound, Barangay Tampilong, Marawi City.

The training was conducted by the STARTEA@ of BJMP BARMM, aimed at enhancing the operational readiness, discipline, and emergency response capabilities of jail personnel. Training activities included values formation, tactical first aid, riot suppression, fi****ms safety, es**rt formation drills, counter-ambush simulations, and close-quarters battle (CQB) room entry exercises.

The opening program was graced by the participation of PDRRMO Shaminoden M. Sambitory, who expressed support and underscored the importance of inter-agency coordination in ensuring effective disaster response and public safety.

The activity was strategically scheduled during the court holiday period, allowing all jail guards to actively participate without disruption to court duties and hearings. This ensured maximum attendance and full engagement of personnel throughout the three-day training.

The Provincial Jail of Lanao del Sur reaffirms its commitment to continuous capacity building and professionalism, ensuring the safety and security of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs), jail personnel, and the community.

We are honored to welcome the Juvenile Delinquency Team composed of representatives from MSSD-BARMM, VAWC, PAO, Human Rights, and the Philippine National Police (PNP). Their visit to the Lanao del Sur Provincial Jail aims to identify and assist minors currently under detention, ensuring their rights and welfare are protected. This joint initiative reflects their shared commitment to compassion, justice, and rehabilitation for young persons deprived of liberty. Together, they stand as a reminder that genuine governance is not only about enforcing the law but also about restoring hope and humanity.

We are honored to welcome the visit of two Commissioners of the Commission on Human Rights in Manila, Comm. Beda A. Fres and Comm. Faydah M. Dumarpa together with Atty. Jeanne Ivy F. Abrina, Atty. Hevah N. Salic, and 9 others here at the Provincial Jail of Lanao del Sur.

As always, visitors appreciate the beauty and cleanliness of our facility, walang amoy, sariwang hangin, at maayos na kapaligiran. Alhamdulillah, they also recognized the meaningful programs we continue to implement for the welfare of our PDLs.
