𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐢 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 – The May 2026 Monthly Conference was held at the Provincial Field Office in Marawi City, serving as an essential platform for updates, coordination, and the addressing of key operational concerns.

The meeting was presided over by Provincial Director 𝐂𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐃. 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫 𝐉𝐫., and attended by the Assistant Provincial Director, Chief of the Administrative Section, Section Chiefs, and the former Assistant Provincial Director, now serving as Planning Officer. Also present during the Monthly Conference were the MLGOOs, Assistant MLGOOs, LGOOs assigned at the Provincial Field Office, and the Provincial Staff, whose participation further strengthened coordination and collaboration among all personnel.

Through meaningful discussions and strengthened coordination, the conference reaffirmed the Office’s collective commitment to responsive, efficient, and people-centered governance.

A meaningful milestone was celebrated on May 6, 2026, with the inauguration and official turnover of the newly constructed Islamic Municipality of Tamparan Fire Station an important step forward in strengthening public safety and emergency response services in the municipality.

Present during the ceremony were MILG Lanao del Sur Provincial Director 𝑪𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝑫. 𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒓 𝑱𝒓., and the VMLP President, along with other key officials and stakeholders, whose presence highlighted the collective commitment to advancing public service and community safety.

The completion of this new facility reflects the government’s continuing commitment to protecting lives and ensuring the welfare of the people of Tamparan. More than just a new building, this fire station represents improved readiness, faster emergency response, and a stronger sense of security for the entire community.

As the fire station officially opens its doors to serve the public, it stands as a symbol of progress, service, and the shared commitment to safeguarding the community for generations to come.

A key highlight of the event was the Manifestation and Signing of the Commitment, a meaningful gesture symbolizing acceptance and a collective declaration of intent to actively support and participate in the implementation of the Balay Silangan Reformation Program. Strategic Planning Consultation Visits, with the participation of the MILG Lanao del Sur Provincial Office and Marawi City Field Unit.

The activity served as a vital platform for consultation, assessment, and strategic alignment aimed at enhancing the Ministry’s programs, operational effectiveness, and public service delivery in support of the Bangsamoro Government’s development agenda. It also underscored the importance of participatory planning in crafting responsive and sustainable strategies for the coming years.

Through collaborative discussions and collective insights from participating personnel, the undertaking reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to principled leadership, institutional excellence, and people-centered governance in the Bangsamoro region.

COA auditors, Provincial Director, Section Chiefs, and disbursing personnel engaged in substantive discussions on audit parameters, mandatory reportorial requirements, compliance standards, and the overall audit direction for Calendar Year 2025. The exchange of insights and clarifications fostered a clear and unified understanding of regulatory expectations and reinforced adherence to established audit protocols.

𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐢 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 - In line with the ongoing efforts to strengthen local governance and intensify the fight against illegal drugs, the 2026 Anti-Illegal Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Audit was conducted on April 27–28, 2026, at the MILG Lanao del Sur Provincial Field Office.

The activity was led by the Provincial Audit Committee, chaired by Provincial Director 𝑪𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝑫. 𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒓 𝑱𝒓., with the presence and active participation of committee members: PCpl Hassanodin S. Abedin of the Philippine National Police (PNP), IAM Charishmon C. Labado of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Aquila M. Kahar of MARADECA Inc., and Norhanna L. Lao of the MCLG.

The audit’s ex*****on and coordination were spearheaded by a dedicated team, including Assistant Provincial Director Sohra C. Basir, ADAC Focal Person Mustapha Said, Chiefs Sharifah M. Serad (LGDS) and Janirah Tago (LGSS), alongside MLGOOs Janina T. Pangandaman and Acmilah Langco.

This activity is in line with the DILG Advisory dated February 06, 2026, which mandates the annual conduct of the ADAC Performance Audit to assess the level of compliance and functionality of local Anti-Illegal Drug Abuse Councils. The audit serves as a vital mechanism in evaluating how effectively LGUs implement their anti-illegal drug programs, particularly in the areas of institutionalization, operations, advocacy, and support systems.

Through this process, LGUs are assessed based on their policies, plans, and accomplishments, ensuring that strategies to combat illegal drugs are not only in place but also actively implemented and sustained. The audit further promotes accountability, strengthens coordination among stakeholders, and reinforces local governments' commitment to maintaining safe and drug-resistant communities.

The Ministry of the Interior and Local Government – Lanao del Sur Provincial Field Office (MILG-LDS) participated in the Training–Workshop on Local Legislation held on 20–23 April 2026 in Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

The activity gathered Local Government Operations Officers (LGOOs) to enhance their knowledge and skills on policy development, legislative processes, and best practices in local legislation that support the effective implementation of programs and ordinances within Local Government Units (LGUs).

The program formally commenced with an Opening Message and Program Overview delivered by Atty. Asmira S. Diego, highlighting the importance of strengthening the legislative capacity of field officers. The training specifically aims to enhance the participants’ skills and knowledge relative to their duties in guiding Sangguniang officials in effectively discharging their law-making functions.

Discussions during the workshop covered best practices in local legislation through policy-making, committees and their functions, and the internal rules of procedure, providing participants with practical knowledge that will further strengthen their capacity to assist LGUs in crafting sound and responsive local policies.

Through initiatives such as this, MILG continues its commitment to empowering local governments and enhancing governance across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

The Municipality of Butig successfully hosted the Launching of the Sebangana Unayan Development Council (SUDC) on April 20, 2026, at the Dianaton Naima Gymnasium, Butig, Lanao del Sur. The event marks a significant step in strengthening inter-municipal collaboration and advancing sustainable and inclusive development in the Sebangana Unayan region.

The SUDC brings together the municipalities of Butig, Lumbatan, Lumbaca-Unayan, Lumbayanague, and Sultan Dumalondong to promote coordinated governance, improved service delivery, and shared development goals among its member local government units.
