MARAWI CITY - โThe Ministry of Trade, Investments and Tourism Lanao del Sur (MTIT-LDS) joined a significant dialogue hosted by the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) - Office of the Honorable Vice Governor Mohammad Khalid "Mujam" Raki-in Adiong during a courtesy visit from the Fiqh and Halal Council of the Philippines, Inc. (FHCPI). The meeting, also attended by Provincial Tourism, Culture and the Arts team, Marawi City Tourism and Provincial Cooperative Office, focused on a vital initiative to establish a dedicated Halal certifier within the province.
โMTIT-LDS highly commends the Vice Governor's initiative in advancing the region's Halal Industry and Islamic Finance Development. The MTIT-LDS's Enterprise and Trade Development Division (ETDD) was invited to the discussion and contributed valuable institutional insights, sharing experiences regarding the Provinceโs Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and providing context on local sentiments toward the Halal certification process.
โCollaborative efforts like this are essential to ensuring that local livelihoods, from micro to macro enterprises, remain robust, sustainable, and strictly aligned with Shariah principles.
