๐Provincial Waste Management Board Convenes for 1st Quarter Meeting 2026
The Provincial Solid Waste Management Board (PSWMB) officially convened today, at the Social Hall, New Capitol Complex for its 1st Quarter Meeting. Presided over by PENRO Pili M. Papandayan, the session served as a high-level forum to synchronize local efforts with provincial sustainability mandates.
A major highlight featured Ms. Raimah Macapundang, Chief of Staff of LGU Pualas, who unveiled the LGU Pualas 10-Year Solid Waste Roadmap. This strategic blueprint establishes a decade-long benchmark for municipal waste infrastructure and ecological preservation across the province.
The Board also conducted a rigorous review of waste segregation at source, addressing barangay-level implementation gaps. To ensure these policies resonate on the ground, Mr. Jalainie M. Ala, IT Officer I, led a specialized discussion on Solid Waste Management Information, Education, and Communication (IEC). This initiative focuses on the implementation of stronger, data-driven IEC efforts at the ground level, ensuring that LGUs have the tools to ignite public participation and institutional accountability.
Furthering the agenda, the Board prioritized strengthening coordination and capacity building, ensuring the PSWMB provides the necessary technical expertise for LGUs to succeed in their environmental targets. As the session concluded, the focus shifted toward upcoming Environmental Month initiatives, cementing Lanao del Surโs proactive stance in the fight for a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
