In a continued effort to strengthen data-driven governance, personnel from the CITY POPULATION OFFICE - MARAWI and the CITY PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICE - MARAWI, successfully completed the "3-DAY (March 24 - 26, 2026) TRAINING ON BASIC STATISTICS" conducted by the "Philippine Statistics Authority - Community-Based Monitoring System" PSA–CBMS Lanao del Sur.

This achievement was made possible through the full support of Marawi City Mayor Shariff Zain Lanto Gandamra and Vice Mayor Atty. Majul U. Gandamra, whose commitment to capacity development continues to empower city personnel in enhancing their skills and competencies.

The Office extends its sincere appreciation to PSA–CBMS Lanao del Sur for their steadfast commitment and excellence in delivering this capacity-building initiative.

The training was a remarkable success under the leadership of Sir Mohammadali R. Alonto, OIC–Chief Statistical Specialist.

The Office likewise expresses its gratitude to the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) for their invaluable support and strong partnership in this endeavor.

Our deepest appreciation is also extended to the resource speakers from the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (CNSM), MSU Main Campus, Marawi City, for generously sharing their expertise and insights.

These collaborative efforts in strengthening statistical capacity play a vital role in advancing evidence-based governance and fostering sustainable and resilient community development.

The City Population Office of Marawi (CPO–Marawi) has successfully concluded its three-day celebration of Population Development Week (POPDEV) 2025.

The event highlighted the office’s strong commitment to raising public awareness and fostering meaningful engagement among the people of Marawi and the surrounding communities. Each activity emphasized the importance of population development, community involvement, and shared responsibility toward progress.

Warmest appreciation is extended to the dedicated and hardworking Chairwoman of Datu sa Dansalan, Hon. Dayanara M. Rasuman-Gandamra, together with the entire barangay community, for graciously accommodating the activities. The constituents demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and active participation throughout the celebration.

As part of the program, CPO–Marawi successfully conducted a "Poster-Making Contest" and a "TikTok Video Contest" in line with this year’s theme,
“TAO ANG PUSO NG PAG-UNLAD.”

The winners of the Poster-Making Contest are as follows:

Champion: MSU–UTC – Mr. Abdulwariz M. AbdulMalik

1st Runner-Up: Lake Lanao National High School (LLNHS)

2nd Runner-Up: Jamiatul Philippine Al-Islamia (JPI)

Special recognition is given to the TikTok Video Contest winner, "Lake Lanao National High School", for its outstanding creativity and dedication in capturing the spirit of this year’s theme. The entry truly reflected the belief that people are at the heart of development. Congratulations and job well done!

All contests were awarded with cash prizes, certificates, and souvenir giveaways as tokens of appreciation for the participants’ effort and excellence.

A heartfelt thanks go to all participants, contestants, and schools for supporting and encouraging their learners to take every opportunity to grow and excel.
