ADVISORY: SECOND PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON THE PROPOSED SCHEDULE OF MARKET VALUES FOR REAL PROPERTY ASSESSMENT.

Following the initial public consultation held last December 16, the City Government of Marawi City through the Office of the City Assessor will conduct the second leg of the activity focusing on the Proposed Schedule of Market Values (SMV) under Republic Act No. 12001, also known as the Real Property Valuation and Assessment Reform Act (RPVARA).

The RPVARA aims to establish single valuation that is fair and up-to-date property valuation system.

This public consultation is being conducted mandatorily prior to the approval of the Schedule of Market Values for real properties within the jurisdiction of the Islamic City of Marawi.

DATE: JANUARY 28, 2026 (TOMORROW WEDNESDAY), 8:00 AM

VENUE: CONVENTION CENTER, DANSALAN, MARAWI CITY

In this activity, we will once again present the proposed SMV for public review, ensure transparency, and stakeholder participation to gather feedbacks and recommendations from property owners, business groups, and other concern sectors.

Your insights and comments are vital to ensure that our valuation reflects fair, equitable, and market-based property values in accordance with the mandate provided for under RPVARA.

The Philippine Tax Academy (PTA) through its Local Government Finance Institute (LGFI) successfully conducted the Local Government Finance Course for LGU Leaders: Integrating Real Property Valuation and Assessment Reform for Enhanced Local Revenue Generation from November 04 to 06, 2025, at the Midas Hotel, Pasay City.

This three-day training program gathered 85 local chief executives, finance officers, and other key local government stakeholders to strengthen their competencies in fiscal management and explore innovative strategies for enhancing local revenue generation.

Discussions covered key modules, including:
- Overview of Local Government Finance and the Pillars of Fiscal Decentralization
- Local Revenue Generation through Local Taxation
- Non-Traditional Modes of Resource Mobilization in the Local Government
- Integrating Real Property Valuation and Assessment Reform for Enhanced Local Revenue Generation
- Planning and Managing Local Economic Enterprises (LEEs)
- Mandated LGU Services and State of Service Delivery
- Sustainability Opportunities for LGUS Beyond Economic Development
- State of Local Economic Development (LED)
