๐Œ๐€๐‘๐€๐Œ๐€๐†, ๐๐ฎ๐ค๐ข๐๐ง๐จ๐ง โ€“ Members of the Indigenous Peoples (IP) community in Purok 5, Barangay Cagawasan, Kibawe, Bukidnon received food packs on May 22, 2026, providing assistance to families and reinforcing community support for residents in a geographically isolated area.

The beneficiaries, led by Datu Rudy Latao, Tribal Chieftain, included approximately 20 members of the IP community. The food distribution helped address the immediate needs of the recipients while fostering stronger collaboration among stakeholders working to support Indigenous Peoples communities.

Soldiers from Bravo "Bravehearts" Company under the supervision of First Lieutenant Marjon F. Prollamante, Company Commander, initiated the outreach activity. Corporal Dennis Jastine Q. Sucaldito, Acting Detachment Commander, facilitated the activity together with seven Civilian Active Auxiliary (CAA) personnel.

The distribution was attended by Hon. Benjie L. Paner, SK Chairman, Datu Malex Lingkitan, Barangay Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IPMR), and Mrs. Annalisa A. Manseguia, Registered Midwife III (RMIII), highlighting the collective effort of local leaders and government stakeholders in supporting the welfare of Indigenous Peoples.

The activity reflected the continued commitment of community partners to ensuring that Indigenous Peoples communities receive assistance and remain active participants in programs that promote well-being, social inclusion, and sustainable development.

Strengthening People's Organization Through Peace Education in Quezon

MARAMAG, Bukidnon โ€” The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through its PAMANA (Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan) Program, conducted a Peace Education Advocacy and Capacity Building Activity to members of various People's Organizations (POs) to strengthen peace awareness, community resilience, and sustainable development initiatives on May 20, 2026 at Poblacion Gym, Quezon, Bukidnon.

Charlie "Crawlers" Company led by First Lieutenant Joseph M. Santos, supported the activity by facilitating peace education and security awareness sessions. Soldiers discussed the recruitment strategies employed by the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG), particularly the New People's Army (NPA), and emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong culture of security to protect communities from exploitation and misinformation.

The organizers also provided capacity-building lectures that equipped participants with practical knowledge and skills to sustain their livelihood programs and improve organizational effectiveness. By combining peace education with community development efforts, the activity empowered beneficiaries to become active partners in promoting peace and progress in their communities.

Through the activity, members of the People's Organizations gained a deeper understanding of their role in safeguarding their communities from the influence of insurgent groups while strengthening their capacity to manage and sustain government-supported livelihood projects.

Equipped with greater awareness and practical skills, the participants now stand better prepared to contribute to peaceful, resilient, and self-reliant communities in Quezon, Bukidnon.

๐Œ๐€๐‘๐€๐Œ๐€๐†, ๐๐ฎ๐ค๐ข๐๐ง๐จ๐ง โ€” Bravo "Bravehearts" Company, 89th Infantry Battalion, participated in a series of Barangay Information Drives and Massive Awareness Campaigns conducted on May 19, 2026, within barangays of Dangcagan, Bukidnon.

The activities brought together representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and various offices of the Local Government Unit (LGU) led by Hon. Mark Vincent B. Dandasan, Municipal Mayor, and Hon. Serville M. Cabunoc, Municipal Vice Mayor. The campaign aimed to strengthen public awareness on security concerns, government programs, and community participation in maintaining peace and order.

At Barangay Bugwak, First Lieutenant Marjon F. Prollamante, Bravo Company Commander, facilitated discussions on the Culture of Security and AFP Recruitment. Information leaflets were also distributed to the attendees as part of the awareness campaign held at the Barangay Function Hall. The activity gathered around ninety-eight (98) residents headed by Hon. Gloria O. Loquez, Punong Barangay.

In the afternoon, Bravo personnel participated in the Barangay Information Drive in Barangay New Visayas, where lectures on the Culture of Security and AFP Recruitment were also conducted and informational materials were distributed to approximately eighty-four (84) residents headed by Hon. Rico T. Doydoy, Punong Barangay. The activity also included coordination with participating agencies and security assistance to ensure the orderly conduct of the campaign.

The conduct of the Barangay Information Drives and Massive Awareness Campaigns highlighted the continued collaboration among government agencies and local stakeholders in promoting security awareness, public safety, and informed community participation in support of peace and development initiatives in Dangcagan, Bukidnon.

๐Œ๐€๐‘๐€๐Œ๐€๐†, ๐๐ฎ๐ค๐ข๐๐ง๐จ๐ง โ€“ The Municipality of San Fernando, Bukidnon, commemorated its second anniversary as an insurgency-free municipality on May 28, 2026, at the Municipal Gymnasium, highlighting two years of sustained peace, security, and development.

Mayor Rogelio C. Yeke spearheaded the commemoration alongside tribal leaders, former rebels, representatives from the private sector, members of the community, and personnel from the security sector.

One of the highlights of the event was the signing of the โ€œPakigsaadโ€ or peace covenant among the tribal leaders of San Fernando, Bukidnon, and the neighboring municipalities of Talaingod, Kapalong, and Santo Tomas in Davao del Norte. The covenant underscores the collective commitment of Indigenous Peoples to preserve peace, strengthen cooperation, resolve conflicts through dialogue, and protect their ancestral domains from threats to security and development.

Since its declaration as an insurgency-free municipality in 2024, San Fernando has continued to strengthen government services, community development programs, and peace-building initiatives.

Representing the Commander of the 10th Infantry Division, Major General Alvin V. Luzon, Brigadier General Christopher M. Diaz, Commander of the 1003rd Infantry Brigade, emphasized the importance of sustaining peace gains through continued collaboration among stakeholders.

In his message, Brigadier General Diaz urged the Local Government Unit of San Fernando and its residents to remain vigilant in protecting the youth and Indigenous Peoples communities from the influence of insurgent groups. He likewise assured the municipality of the Philippine Army's continued support through close coordination with the LGU and other peace partners in advancing the whole-of-nation approach toward peacebuilding, development, and lasting stability.

โ€œWe encourage the people of San Fernando to continue supporting lawful initiatives and community development programs that promote lasting peace across the municipality,โ€ Brig. Gen. Diaz added.

Meanwhile, Mayor Yeke expressed his gratitude to the Philippine Army and the Philippine National Police for their invaluable contributions in attaining and sustaining peace in the municipality. He also paid tribute to the soldiers and law enforcement personnel who laid down their lives in the pursuit of peace and security for the people of San Fernando.

๐ˆ๐ ๐๐‡๐Ž๐“๐Ž๐’ | Brigadier General Christopher M. Diaz visited the 89th Infantry Battalion in Maramag, Bukidnon on May 27, 2026. Lieutenant Colonel Antonio G. Bulao I and his staff warmly welcomed the 1003rd Brigade Commander.

Brig. Gen. Diaz checked the morale and welfare of troops and the peace and security situation in the 89IB's area of operation. He also praised the soldiers for keeping Southern Bukidnon safe and urged them to stay mission-focused.

๐Œ๐€๐‘๐€๐Œ๐€๐†, ๐๐ฎ๐ค๐ข๐๐ง๐จ๐งโ€” The 89th Infantry โ€œMakataoโ€ Battalion, in partnership with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), facilitated the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) application and profiling of 37 Friends' Rescued at Sitio Malantao, Barangay Halapitan, San Fernando, Bukidnon on May 18, 2026.

Second Lieutenant Maria A. Lorzano, Acting Civil-Military Operations Officer, together with Second Lieutenant Mamer Oliverio, Executive Officer of Alpha Company, facilitated the activity by ensuring the presence of the FRs and maintaining the security of the area. Meanwhile, Ms. Teza B. Amor, E-CLIP Focal Person, along with representatives from DAR, assessed the applicantsโ€™ immediate needs and background information.

The profiling also enabled concerned agencies to identify appropriate government assistance, including financial aid, livelihood opportunities, agricultural support, psychosocial services, and other programs intended to help the FRs.

Following the activity, the 37 friends' rescued also received food packages as part of the governmentโ€™s continuing support for their reintegration into peaceful communities.

The successful E-CLIP application of the 37 friends rescued reflects the continuing commitment to peace. Through the collaborative efforts of the 89IB and the Provincial Office, friends' rescued are given meaningful opportunities to rebuild their lives and become productive members of their communities.

๐Œ๐€๐‘๐€๐Œ๐€๐†, ๐๐ฎ๐ค๐ข๐๐ง๐จ๐ง โ€“The Panabo Agriya Eagles Club and Panabo Agriya Lady Eagles Club, in partnership with Charlie Company, 89th Infantry Battalion, conducted an outreach program for Indigenous Peoples (IPs) in Mangani, Paquibato District, Davao City on May 17, 2026.

Mr. Domingo Almirol led the Panabo Agriya Eagles Club, while Ms. Jorniya Almirol headed the Panabo Agriya Lady Eagles Club during the humanitarian activity. First Lieutenant Joseph M. Santos, Commander of Charlie Company, led the participating troops who supported the outreach initiative for IP families, especially children and mothers in the community.

To help learners prepare for the opening of classes, the outreach team distributed school supplies to students from remote sitios whose families continue to struggle in securing educational materials. The activity aimed to ease the financial burden of parents while encouraging children to pursue their education.

The outreach team also distributed food packs and basic clothing to residents to address the immediate needs of the community and promote the welfare of IP families in the area.

Charlie "Crawlers" Company, provided security and coordination support throughout the activity to ensure the smooth and orderly delivery of assistance. The troops also coordinated with community leaders to identify beneficiaries and facilitate the successful conduct of the outreach program.

Through the activity, the partner organizations and the Philippine Army strengthened their collaboration in promoting community welfare, inclusive development, and lasting peace in geographically isolated communities.

๐Œ๐€๐‘๐€๐Œ๐€๐†, ๐๐ฎ๐ค๐ข๐๐ง๐จ๐ง โ€“ Bukidnon Provincial Hospital (BPH) successfully conducted a bloodletting activity on May 14, 2026, at Purok 6, Barangay Cagawasan, Kibawe, Bukidnon, as part of efforts to support local healthcare services and promote voluntary blood donation in the community.

The humanitarian activity was spearheaded by Dr. Gem E. BalBin, MD III of BPH Kibawe, and gathered support from local stakeholders, healthcare workers, and military personnel operating in the area.

Supporting the activity were personnel from the Cagawasan Patrol Base under Bravo Company, 89th Infantry (MAKATAO) Battalion, under the supervision of First Lieutenant Marjon F. Prollamante, Company Commander. Participating troops were led by Staff Sergeant Eduardo S. Jacildo, Detachment Commander, together with Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) Active Auxiliary personnel from Delta Company.

The activity formed part of ongoing civil-military efforts aimed at supporting community welfare programs and sustaining cooperation with partner agencies and local communities in Bukidnon.

๐Œ๐€๐‘๐€๐Œ๐€๐†, ๐๐ฎ๐ค๐ข๐๐ง๐จ๐งโ€“ The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), in partnership with the local government of Kibawe and the 89th Infantry Battalion, formally opened a 10-day Community-Based Training on Chair Back Massage and Foot Reflexology on May 13, 2026 in Purok 1, Barangay Cagawasan, Kibawe, Bukidnon.

The skills training program is being attended by 25 members of the Cagawasan Farmers Association. Participants are undergoing hands-on instruction in chair back massage and foot reflexology to equip them with practical wellness service skills that may serve as additional livelihood opportunities. TESDA also provided training allowances to the participants for the duration of the course.

The opening activity was attended by Ms. Laleanne G. Batao, Senior Labor and Employment Officer of Kibawe, and Ms. Daisy G. Jao, TESDA Malaybalay Trainer, who facilitated the conduct of the training program.

As part of the 89th Infantry (MAKATAO) Battalionโ€™s continuing effort to sustain and strengthen peopleโ€™s organizations in its area of responsibility, personnel from Bravo Company led by First Lieutenant Marjon F. Prollamante, Commanding Officer, together with Corporal Regie T. Francisco, Community Development Team Non-Commissioned Officer, assisted in coordinating with the Cagawasan Farmers Association for the conduct of the TESDA livelihood training

The 10-day training is expected to conclude with participants completing competency-based instruction in wellness services, providing members of the Cagawasan Farmers Association with additional technical skills acquired through the program.
