BUKHAD federation officers recently met with HULAGWAY Organization headed by Sir Alvin Gomez, together with its set of officers. The meeting was filled with excitement and shared vision as both groups discussed future plans, especially research-based projects and programs that aim to create meaningful and lasting impact for the community.

BUKHAD officers expressed their sincere gratitude for this long-awaited partnership, recognizing it as a strong step forward in strengthening advocacy, unity, and inclusivity. HULAGWAY Organization also confirmed its participation in the upcoming Annual PRIDE Celebration and promised to help carry out some of the planned activities.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone for the BUKHAD Federation. With HULAGWAY Organization as a new partner, we look forward to delivering more innovative, research-driven, and impactful initiatives for the community.

Earlier today, BUKHAD-MF President Bryn Axel Tamula and Secretary Paula Paradela Lugmay had a meaningful and productive meeting with Hon. Consihala Rina E. Quino to discuss the preparation for the upcoming PRIDE Month Celebration this June 2026.

The BUKHAD officers presented their proposed activities, which were carefully planned for the annual celebration. Cons. Rina gave her initial approval to the proposal, subject to budget allocation, and assured her support for the BUKHAD community in making the event successful.

Just as in last year’s PRIDE celebration—where she gave her full support—Cons. Rina remains a steadfast ally of the community.

PRESIDENT QUALIFICATIONS

BUKHAD Manolo Fortich (LGBTQ+ Organization)

The President of BUKHAD Manolo Fortich must possess the following qualifications:

1. Bona fide member of BUKHAD Manolo Fortich and an active advocate of LGBTQ+ rights and welfare.

2. At least 21 years old at the time of election.

3. Resident of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, for at least one (1) year prior to the election.

4. Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in community organizations, youth groups, or advocacy-related work.

5. Strong moral character and good standing in the community, with no record of misconduct that may tarnish the organization’s reputation.

6. Knowledgeable in LGBTQ+ issues, gender equality, and human rights principles.

7. Capable of representing the organization in official functions, meetings, and partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and other institutions.

8. Able to commit time and effort to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the presidency.

9. Effective in communication, both oral and written, and able to work harmoniously with officers, members, and stakeholders.

10. Not holding any position that may cause conflict of interest with the goals and values of the organization.

Being nominated under the Youth Award for Excellence in Community Service is already a significant victory—not only for BUKHAD Manolo Fortich but also for the entire LGBTQ+ community, whose voices, efforts, and advocacies continue to gain rightful recognition.

The prestigious event was proudly attended by BUKHAD President Beverly Strong and Secretary Paula Paradela Lugmay who represented the organization with dignity and unwavering pride. The BUKHAD Organization, led by its President Bryn Axel Tamula and Secretary Ms. Paula Paradela Lugmay successfully aced the recent evaluation for the AYOS Award 2025.🏳️‍🌈

The awarding ceremony is set to take place on December 12, 2025, at the Municipal Gymnasium, where BUKHAD continues to exemplify excellence, commitment, and passion for LGBT development.

BUKHAD–Manolo Fortich proudly commenced its Pride Month Celebration last July 30, 2025, at the Municipal Gymnasium, embracing the spirit of inclusivity, respect, and total acceptance.

This year’s celebration brought together the vibrant and diverse LGBTQIA+ community of Manolo Fortich through a series of engaging and empowering activities. With the theme centered on unity in diversity, the event featured sportsfest competitions, “Laro ng Lahi” traditional games, and the much-awaited 1st BUKHAD–Manolo Fortich Got Talent, showcasing the remarkable talents of LGBTQIA+ members across the municipality.

The celebration was organized by BUKHAD–Manolo Fortich headed by its president Bryn Axel Tamula in partnership with the Local Youth Development Office headed by Alejandro Arenal , and made possible through the generous support of the Bukidnon Community Cooperative and Hon. Rina Quino who expressed her solid support to the BUKHAD members.🧡🧡🧡

Five LGBTQIA+ clusters from across Manolo Fortich actively participated, each expressing their solidarity, gratitude, and pride during the culmination program. The event served not only as a celebration but also as a statement of hope, resilience, and a call for continued progress in the fight for equality and acceptance. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈
