As part of its continued commitment to community engagement and nation-building, the Manjuyod District Jail participated in the Opening Program of Brigada Eskwela 2026 at Manjuyod Central Elementary School, Manjuyod, Negros Oriental. Spearheaded by JSINSP ARCHIBALD M DORIO, Acting District Jail Warden, and supported by our unit personnel, the activity showcased the Bureau's dedication to supporting educational initiatives that benefit both learners and the wider community.

The gathering brought together various sectors of society, including government agencies, non-government organizations, parents, volunteers, and private stakeholders, all united by a common objective—to prepare schools for the opening of classes and ensure that students return to a learning environment that is safe, orderly, and conducive to academic growth. Through active participation and collaborative efforts, the stakeholders demonstrated the enduring spirit of bayanihan that remains vital in advancing quality education.

📚🤝 UNITING FOR EDUCATION: MANJUYOD DISTRICT JAIL JOINS BRIGADA ESKWELA 2026 🤝📚

Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to community development and quality education, the Manjuyod District Jail actively participated in the Opening Program of Brigada Eskwela 2026 held at the Manjuyod CES-SPED Center/SPS, Manjuyod, Negros Oriental. Led by JSINSP ARCHIBALD M DORIO, Acting District Jail Warden, together with twenty (20) dedicated unit personnel, the jail unit joined fellow stakeholders in supporting the Department of Education's initiative aimed at preparing schools for the upcoming academic year.

The activity served as a platform for strengthening partnerships among government agencies, private organizations, community volunteers, parents, and other education advocates who share a common vision of providing learners with a safe, clean, and conducive environment for learning. Through collective action and volunteerism, participants reaffirmed their commitment to fostering educational excellence and ensuring that schools are adequately prepared to welcome students for another productive school year.

The opening ceremony officially marked the commencement of the weeklong Brigada Eskwela campaign, highlighting the vital role of collaboration and shared responsibility in nation-building through education.

In line with the memorandum on the Programs for the Promotion of Health and Well-Being of BJMP Personnel, unit personnel of Manjuyod District under the active leadership of JSINSP ARCHIBALD M DORIO, Acting District Jail Warden, regularly participate in the implementation of the Health and Well-Being Program aimed at enhancing physical fitness, promoting healthy living, and ensuring the overall wellness of personnel. This weekly activity forms part of the agency’s continuing commitment to maintaining a physically capable and health-conscious workforce that can efficiently perform its duties and responsibilities.

Following the conduct of the Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment, personnel identified with specific health concerns are provided with appropriate physical fitness interventions and recommendations tailored to their individual BMI classifications.

The program primarily seeks to address health conditions through proper exercise routines and lifestyle modifications that contribute to weight management, improved endurance, and better overall physical condition.Personnel consistently comply with the prescribed fitness regimen by engaging in various physical exercises carefully selected to ensure safety, effectiveness, and gradual physical improvement.

The Jail Unit Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Committee successfully conducted the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Inspection Checklist Monitoring within the facility in line with the continuous commitment to ensuring a safe, healthy, and secure working environment for both personnel and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL). This undertaking aims to assess the facility’s compliance with existing Occupational Safety and Health standards and to further strengthen workplace safety measures and operational preparedness.

Under the esteemed leadership of JSINSP ARCHIBALD M DORIO, Acting District Jail Warden, the inspection comprehensively evaluated various areas concerning workplace safety, sanitation and cleanliness, emergency preparedness and response mechanisms, smoke-free workplace compliance, water supply availability, and other essential health and safety concerns within the jail facility. The activity also served as a proactive initiative in identifying possible hazards and determining necessary corrective measures to maintain a secure and health-conscious environment.

Furthermore, the inspection generated several recommendations for facility enhancement and inclusivity, including the establishment of a child-friendly area, the construction of comfort rooms intended for PWD and LGBTQI+ individuals, the procurement of additional water tanks to strengthen water accessibility, and the designation of a competent and well-trained OSH Officer. Through this initiative, the Jail Unit reaffirms its unwavering dedication to promoting occupational safety, institutional development, and the overall welfare of everyone within the facility.

In line with the memorandum on the Disinfection of all Jail Units in Preparation for the Emergence of Summer-Related Disease, a comprehensive disinfection activity was successfully conducted at Manjuyod District Jail under the active leadership of JSINSP ARCHIBALD M DORIO, Acting District Jail Warden. This undertaking aims to maintain a sanitary, safe, and disease-free environment for both Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) and jail personnel, especially during the onset of illnesses commonly associated with the summer season.

The activity was spearheaded by JO2 Erika Mar D. Selim, Unit Nurse, together with the active participation and assistance of duty personnel. During the operation, disinfectant solutions were properly prepared and systematically applied to various areas and frequently touched surfaces including floors, walls, railings, doorknobs, comfort rooms, and other facility fixtures. Proper ventilation was strictly observed throughout the process to ensure safety and effectiveness of the sanitation procedures.

Moreover, all personnel involved diligently complied with established health and safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), in order to prevent exposure to harmful substances and ensure the orderly conduct of the activity. This initiative reflects the continuous commitment of the jail management in promoting public health, environmental sanitation, and the overall welfare of PDL and personnel through proactive and preventive measures.

Manjuyod District Jail personnel once again proved that service goes beyond the walls of confinement through their active participation in the Raffyd Services initiative. Through volunteerism activities such as gift-giving and a Read-a-Book Session, joy, learning, and hope were shared with the children and families in the community. The smiles and enthusiasm of the young participants reflected the meaningful impact of simple acts of kindness and compassion.

As part of the Raffyd Services initiative, Manjuyod District Jail under the leadership of JSINSP ARCHIBALD M DORIO, Acting District Jail Warden, actively participated in various community-centered activities aimed at promoting inclusive development and extending meaningful public service to the community. The initiative served as an avenue to bring government programs, educational support, and direct assistance closer to the people, particularly to children and families in the barangay.

In line with this participation, the unit conducted Volunteerism Activities composed of a Gift-Giving Activity and a Read-a-Book Session for children. Essential goods and assistance were distributed to beneficiaries to help provide support and encouragement to families in the community. Meanwhile, the interactive storytelling and reading session created an enjoyable learning environment where children were encouraged to appreciate the value of reading, education, and imagination. The activity brought smiles and excitement to the young participants while promoting literacy and positive values.

The successful conduct of these activities further strengthened the partnership between the jail unit, the municipal government, and barangay officials in fostering a compassionate and service-oriented community. More importantly, the initiative helped build stronger trust, cooperation, and connection between law enforcement personnel and the public. Through simple acts of kindness and volunteerism, the activity left a meaningful impact on the lives of the beneficiaries and inspired a spirit of unity and shared responsibility within the community.
