HUMANITARIAN SERVICE IN ACTION | PH Navy Sustains HADR Efforts Amid Habagat, Strengthens Disaster Response Partnerships
The Philippine Navy, through its various units, sustained its humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) efforts amid the enhanced Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, providing assistance to affected communities while strengthening coordination with local government units (LGUs), disaster response agencies, and civilian partners.
The Navy deployed several HADR efforts such as libreng sakay initiative, house-to-house rescue operations, deployment of disaster response teams, and relief operations, among other efforts.
The Philippine Navy remains ready to provide immediate assistance to communities affected by natural hazards. These initiatives likewise underscore the importance of strong coordination among the military, government agencies, LGUs, and civilian organizations in ensuring a swift and coordinated response during disasters and emergencies.
