With the goal of equipping medical technologists, health allied professionals, researchers, and educators with basic biosafety and molecular biology concepts and techniques, the training entailed both online lectures and on-site hands-on workshop.

The online sessions included lectures on biosafety and biosecurity, good laboratory practices, and an overview of molecular biology concepts and basic techniques. Steps on usual molecular work such as nucleic acid extraction, quality assessment, polymerase chain reaction, and sequence analysis comprised the on-site workshops.

The 8th Molecular Biology Training for Professionals (MBTP) is APPROVED for 20 CPD points for Medical Technologists!

The PRC has approved CPD points for the upcoming 8th Molecular Biology Training for Professionals. All Medical Technologists are entitled to 20 CPD points upon completion of the Lec+Lab package and 8 CPD points for the attendees of the Lec only package.

The UP-NIH will be conducting its 15th run of the Neuroscience Seminar Series entitled "Neurobiological mechanisms of placebo analgesia: Insights from recent laboratory research". Join us in this unique opportunity to learn more about Neuroscience with our invited guest speaker: Dr. Luana Colloca - Chair of Pain and Translational Symptom Science Pain and Translational Symptom Science, Professor of Pain and Translational Symptom Science, Director of Placebo Beyond Opinions Center Pain and Translational Symptom Science, & MPower Professor of University of Maryland, Baltimore

This will be on May 23, 2026 (Saturday) from 09:00 AM - 10:30 AM (via Zoom). This will be a unique opportunity to engage and introduce the different fields of neuroscience from expert neuroscientists around the globe. A lecture will be conducted by the invited speaker and there will be an opportunity for the graduate students to interact with the speaker after the lecture.
