In this video series, we will share and debunk the stereotypes that individuals may have, whether it be unknowingly or consciously, or unintentionally and intentionally - and even internalized within oneself. In being a little more educated regarding HIV and the community, we can reassess the perceptions we have, and push toward a more inclusive and empowering community that destigmatizes s*x, individuals with HIV, and accessing s*xual health facilities in the little ways we can.

We’d love to hear your insights and thoughts! Feel free to share them by commenting, reaching out to any of us through chat, or by filling out this anonymous survey:

[HOPE IN THE FACE OF HIV: A VIDEO SERIES]

Stay tuned for our video series!

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is still a topic not commonly talked about in our country, with individuals with HIV being stigmatized and regarded as lustful, dirty or promiscuous due to the nature of how HIV is transmitted. This can actually increase the risk of transmission as individuals become discouraged to get themselves tested and access s*xual health facilities (i.e condoms, HIV testing) to protect themselves and others, due to fear of people’s judgment and how their social relationships will be affected - especially if they are confirmed positive, or being unable to access facilities due to external stigma.

Through this video series, we aim to tackle and debunk the misconceptions around HIV, and raise awareness and provide information - taking our step to normalize discourse in prioritizing s*xual health alongside empowering individuals with HIV through providing resources on testing and organizations that cater to the community.

Through our four videos, you can become a part of pushing for a more inclusive society that breaks the stigma through four steps:

STEP 1: Acknowledge HIV Misconceptions
STEP 2: Acknowledge the importance of HIV testing (and consider it an option for you too)
STEP 3: Support organizations with advocacies for HIV
STEP 4: Grow past our own personal stereotypes

We’d love to hear your insights and thoughts! Feel free to share them by commenting, reaching out to any of us through chat, or by filling out this anonymous survey:
