๐๐๐๐: Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, warns Coast Guard personnel following the arrest of two PCG members in separate joint anti-illegal drug operations conducted in Cebu City and Davao City on April 22 and 23, 2026.
Admiral Gavan ordered the immediate placement of the concerned personnel under preventive suspension to ensure an impartial and expeditious investigation.
โLet this serve as a clear warning: PCG personnel who violate the law will face the full consequences of their actions, fast," he expressed.
According to PCG Spokesperson, Commodore Noemie Cayabyab PCG, the PCG is fully cooperating with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and other law enforcement agencies in the ongoing investigation and the filing of appropriate charges.
โThese apprehensions demonstrate that the PCG does not shield its personnel from accountability. We will continue to support lawful operations against erring members and uphold the honor and credibility of the Coast Guard,โ Commodore Cayabyab added.
The PCG Spokesperson emphasized that, if proven guilty, the concerned personnel shall face criminal and administrative sanctions, including dismissal from the Coast Guard service with forfeiture of benefits.
