𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃: Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, warns Coast Guard personnel following the arrest of two PCG members in separate joint anti-illegal drug operations conducted in Cebu City and Davao City on April 22 and 23, 2026.

Admiral Gavan ordered the immediate placement of the concerned personnel under preventive suspension to ensure an impartial and expeditious investigation.

“Let this serve as a clear warning: PCG personnel who violate the law will face the full consequences of their actions, fast," he expressed.

According to PCG Spokesperson, Commodore Noemie Cayabyab PCG, the PCG is fully cooperating with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and other law enforcement agencies in the ongoing investigation and the filing of appropriate charges.

“These apprehensions demonstrate that the PCG does not shield its personnel from accountability. We will continue to support lawful operations against erring members and uphold the honor and credibility of the Coast Guard,” Commodore Cayabyab added.

The PCG Spokesperson emphasized that, if proven guilty, the concerned personnel shall face criminal and administrative sanctions, including dismissal from the Coast Guard service with forfeiture of benefits.

⁨⁨𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) conducted the Turn-Over Ceremony of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Maritime Communications, Weapons, Electronics, and Information System (CG-11) at the PCG National Headquarters in Port Area, Manila, on April 6, 2026.

This turnover underscores President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr.’s directive to strengthen maritime security and uphold service excellence in the PCG.

Commodore Roderick Denila PCG formally relinquished his duties and responsibilities to Captain Wendell Soliva PCG, who assumed office as the incoming Deputy Chief of Staff for Maritime Communications, Weapons, Electronics, and Information System (CG-11).

Meanwhile, Captain Soliva PCG expressed his commitment to continue the initiatives of his predecessor and conveyed his readiness to undertake new endeavors and responsibilities in further enhancing the operational effectiveness of O/CG-11.

Chief of Coast Guard Staff, Rear Admiral Glide Gene Mary Sontillanosa PCG, emphasized the critical role of communications in Coast Guard operations, reiterating the guidance of the PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG.

This directive underscores the importance of maintaining reliable and resilient communication systems in all operations, and was duly relayed to the incoming CG-11 as a key priority.

The traditional turn-over ceremony symbolizes the seamless transition of leadership and responsibility, as well as the continued commitment of the PCG in upholding excellence, professionalism, and mission readiness in service to the nation.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) delegation paid a courtesy call to Philippine Consul General, Adelio Angelito Cruz in Los Angeles, California, on April 7, 2026.

Led by Special Operations Force Planner, Captain Erwin Tolentino PCG, the PCG delegation discussed preparations for the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2026 Final-Planning Conference.

RIMPAC 2026 aims to enhance interoperability and promote maritime security across the Indo-Pacific region through a series of capability building exercises in Hawaii scheduled around summertime.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) announced the promotion of several senior officers to the rank of Commodore, effective March 6, 2026, in recognition of their leadership and contributions to public service.

The promotion was officially announced on, March 13, 2026, following the approval of President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr., upon the recommendation of Department of Transportation Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez.

Among those promoted is PCG Spokesperson, Captain Noemie Cayabyab PCG.

As PCG Spokesperson, Captain Noemie Cayabyab PCG has been at the forefront of communicating Coast Guard's operational updates and emergency response efforts to the public and media.

She has played a key role in ensuring timely and accurate information dissemination during maritime incidents, search and rescue operations, humanitarian missions, and major maritime developments.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG welcomed Assistant Secretary for Special Concerns, Department of Information and Communications Technology - DICT Mark Christian Guingcangco, at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila, on March 17, 2026.

During the meeting, both parties highlighted a productive exchange of insights and engaged in technical discussions aimed at enhancing the reliability and protection of critical communication systems, particularly in addressing emerging challenges in the maritime domain.

The meeting also served as a platform to identify priority areas for collaboration and to establish mutually beneficial initiatives between the DICT and PCG, with a focus on capability development, information systems, and cybersecurity.

Both the PCG and DICT reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening coordination and developing innovative approaches to advance secure and resilient communications in support of national maritime operations.
