JUST IN: The Metro Manila Council (MMC) passes a resolution for NCR mayors to implement a maximum penalty standard fine of P5,000 for individuals caught illegally dumping garbage in public places.

“Huwag po tayong magtatapon ng basura sa maling lugar. Huwag po sa mga ilog, creek, at sa mga daluyan ng tubig,” MMC President and San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said in a press conference.

Meanwhile, the municipality of Pateros is exempted in the resolution, which would have a P2,500 fine. | via MJ Salcedo, INQUIRER.net
