Philippine National AIDS Council - PNAC

PNAC was reconstituted to ensure the implementation of the PH response to HIV and AIDS situation.

Under the Republic Act 11166 or also known as the "Philippine HIV and AIDS Policy Act", Article 1, Section 4 of Philippine National AIDS Council (PNAC). - the PNAC, established under Section 43 of Republic Act No. 8504, otherwise known as the "Philippine AIDS Prevention and Control Act of 1998", shall be reconstituted and streamlined to ensure the implementation of the country's response to the HIV and AIDS situation. The PNAC shall be an agency attached to the DOH with a separate budget under the General Appropriations Act (GAA). It shall have its own secretariat and staffing pattern that shall be headed by an executive director.

DOJ SUPPORTS DOH HIV AND AIDS PREVENTION PROGRAM

The Department of Health thru the Philippine National AIDS Council (PNAC) Secretariat recently delivered 2 boxes of condoms and dispensers to the Department of Justice (DOJ) during the latter’s 129th agency anniversary, in support to the DOH’s goal of reducing cases of HIV, sexually-transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancies. Receiving the supplies on behalf of the DOJ is Maria Sheila Sanchez. Also in photo are Donato Dennis Magat and Jhoel James Vargas from the PNAC Secretariat.

On September 30, the Philippine National AIDS Council (PNAC) convened its 24th Plenary Meeting.

The meeting covered critical agenda items, including the initiation of the Civil Society Organization (CSO) Screening and Selection Process, the LGU HIV Monitoring and Accountability Framework, and the selection of the PNAC representative to the Philippine Country Coordinating Mechanism (PCCM).

PNAC remains committed to building a stronger, more responsive, and sustainable national HIV and AIDS response.

The Philippine National AIDS Council, represented by Dr. Joselito Feliciano and Department of Interior and Local Government Assistant Secretary Elizabeth Lopez de Leon, recently held a meeting with the Philippine National Police to establish a partnership with the Philippine National Police (PNP) to strengthen HIV and AIDS prevention, awareness, and education among PNP personnel and the communities they serve. The Philippine National AIDS Council (PNAC) extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, loved ones, colleagues, and constituents of Congressman Ciriaco “Jun” Gato Jr.

We mourn the loss of a dedicated physician and public servant whose life was devoted to serving the Filipino people in advancing the health and well-being of our communities.

May his family find strength and comfort during this difficult time. His service and legacy will always be remembered with gratitude and respect.

May he rest in eternal peace.
