The National Archives of the Philippines is a unique agency that functions both as an administrative agency and as a cultural institution. It is charged with the establishment of policies, standards, and guidelines in relation to the administration of public records. This involves record creation, utilization, maintenance, retention, preservation, conservation, and disposal. These activities promote accountability, transparency, and business continuity as well as the rule of law. As the nationโ€™s repository of archival and historical documents, the NAP fulfills another mandate: to pursue, conserve, and promote Filipino cultural heritage by preserving the documentation of government transactions through the years.

This fun run was organized by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) as part of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA). It was anchored with the sub-theme โ€œ๐˜—๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ข๐˜ฌ๐˜ข๐˜ด ๐˜ฏ๐˜ข ๐˜—๐˜ถ๐˜ด๐˜ฐ,โ€ as the event championed wellness, unity, compassion, and pride in public service among government employees and fellow Filipinos.

Beyond promoting wellness, the run also supports a cause. Its proceeds will benefit the ๐˜—๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜“๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ๐˜ฌ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฅ ๐˜‰๐˜ข๐˜บ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ช (PLBi) Program of the CSC, which helps assist government workers and their families.

The National Archives of the Philippines joins the nation in mourning the passing of the National Artist for Literature, Dr. Resil B. Mojares (September 4, 1943 โ€“ September 5, 2026).

A leading voice in Philippine letters, he devoted his career to documenting our history, culture, and identity. He is most remembered as the founding director of the Cebuano Studies Center, a research library and cultural hub that advanced the study of the region's identity within the Philippines.

In honoring his life and memory, we reflect on his profound contributions to our heritage; his legacy will continue to inspire archivists, historians, and storytellers nationwide.
