EMPOWERING LEARNER-LEADERS THROUGH GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT
Yesterday, October 8, our learner-leaders gathered for a Gender and Development (GAD) Training aimed at strengthening awareness, promoting inclusivity, and fostering respect and equality within the school community.
The training featured four speakers, with two sharing their insights during the morning session and two during the afternoon session. It was attended by Grade 7 to Grade 12 class presidents and representatives from the three school organizations: the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), Barkada Kontra Bisyo (BKB), and Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O). Beyond the informative discussions, the participants were also entertained by fellow leaders who showcased their talents through singing and dancing, making the event both meaningful and enjoyable.
To make the participants feel welcomed and appreciated, the school also provided lunch and snacks during both the morning and afternoon sessions. More than just a training, the activity served as an opportunity for learner-leaders to learn, connect, and strengthen their commitment to building a school environment where everyone is respected, valued, and empowered.
Together, let us continue to lead with empathy, promote equality, and champion a more inclusive community for every learner.
