Mangaldan Integrated School SPED Center 500383 Mangaldan District II . HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF MANGALDAN INTEGRATED SCHOOL


Bantayan Central School was first established as a primary barangay school in 1928. Herminio A.

It offered grades I and II classes in a two-classroom nipa hut shed. It was then called Bantayan Barrio School. Through the years, it has evolved into a school offering complete elementary grades to its catchment areas namely, Barangays Lanas, Talogtog, Bateng, Pogo, Palua, Salay and Longos Proper of the Municipality of San Fabian. When then District Supervisor Dr. Primo A. Mina, who was tasked to

open a separate district for Mangaldan, he chose between Bantayan Barrio School and Malabago Elementary School to be the central school of Mangaldan District II. In 1969 when District of Mangaldan II was established, Bantayan Central School was likewise opened as the central school because of its location in relation to the other schools comprising the newly-opened district. It is accessible to all kinds of land vehicles and regular transport system. With the support and cooperation of the Local Government Unit of Mangaldan headed by Hon. Romero, Municipal Mayor through his advocacy of bringing basic education closer to the catchment areas, Bantayan Central School was converted and established as the first and only integrated school in the municipality which offers kindergarten, elementary and secondary as the levels of education. The pertinent papers were prepared by Dr. Jupiter L. Petilla, Principal IV which were noted by Dr. Cleofe C. Nabua, Public Schools District Supervisor and eventually indorsed to the regional office by Mdm. Viraluz S. Raguindin, CESO VI, Pangasinan II Schools Division Superintendent last April 14, 2011. Said papers were consequently approved by Dr. Ligaya Soledad T. Miguel, CESO III, Regional Director last April 15, 2011. The launching program was held last May 5, 2011 which was attended by the stakeholders from LGU-Mangaldan, Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. and the DepEd-Pangasinan Division II. While the Grand Opening of Mangaldan Integrated School Classes, School Year 2011-2012 was conducted last June 6, 2011 with the awarding of incentives to the first 50 enrolees as highlight of the program.
