NACC RACCO VII holds Adoption and Alternative Child Care Forum in Badian πŸ’™πŸ’›β€οΈ

NACC RACCO VII conducted an Adoption and Alternative Child Care Forum in Badian, Cebu on August 19, 2026.

Attending the forum were the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC), Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) staff, Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Persons, and Day Care Workers.

The forum touched on the importance of adoption and alternative child care in ensuring the protection and safety of children, and the programs and services of the NACC.

The National Authority for Child Care (NACC) warmly welcomes Assistant Secretary for Operations Atty. Madeline Arezu Ty Jam and NACC Council Member Atty. Bernadette Abejo as they return to the agency.

Both bring with them years of experience in adoption and alternative child care. Asec. Jam previously served as NACC Assistant Secretary for Administration and Finance, while Atty. Abejo formerly served as Executive Director of the Inter-Country Adoption Board (ICAB).

To encourage more foster parents in the Central Visayas, the National Authority for Child Care Regional Alternative Child Care Office (NACC RACCO) 7 conducted a Foster Care Forum at the Central Philippine Nazarene College (CPNC) RICE Chapel on August 23, 2026.

The International Justice Mission (IJM), together with the Central Visayas District Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (CVD NCM), led the forum as part of efforts to recruit more foster families willing to care for children who are survivors of Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC).

In her discussion, NACC RACCO 7 Social Welfare Officer III Roselyn Bandibas highlighted the role of foster families in supporting the development and well-being of children who have had adverse childhood experiences.

With many children currently in residential care facilities across the region, NACC RACCO 7 continues to call for more individuals and families to become licensed foster parents and help provide children with safe, stable, and nurturing family-based care.
