HAPPENING NOW | Balamban, Cebu

The Philippine Coconut Authority – Cebu Province is currently conducting a Health and Wellness Training for coconut farmers under the Health and Medical Program of the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP).

The activity aims to promote health awareness, disease prevention, and overall well-being among coconut farmers through informative lectures and practical health and safety interventions.

Resource speakers from the following partner institutions are sharing their expertise:
• University of the Visayas (UV)
• Balamban Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO)
• Balamban Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)
• Rural Health Unit (RHU) – Balamban

Simultaneous training activities are also being conducted in:
• Alcoy, Cebu
• Daanbantayan, Cebu

Through the CFIDP Health and Medical Program, PCA continues to support the welfare of coconut farmers by promoting healthier, safer, and more resilient farming communities.

Empowering coconut farmers through livestock integration!

Coconut farmers from Carmen, Cebu actively participated in Batch 3 of the Training on Native Cattle Production conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI).

The training equipped participants with essential knowledge and skills in native cattle production in preparation for the implementation of the Livestock Integration (Native Animals) under the Community-Based Farm Enterprise Development Program, a component of the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP), to be implemented by the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI).

Through capacity-building initiatives such as this, coconut farmers are empowered to diversify their farm enterprises and enhance their livelihood opportunities.

TABUELAN, CEBU. – Coconut farmers and stakeholders gathered for a Techno Forum on Coconut Production Technology held on June 10, 2026, this town, to strengthen their knowledge and skills on modern coconut production practices and support services.
The forum served as a platform for disseminating relevant technologies and information aimed at improving coconut productivity and sustainability. It also highlighted government initiatives and technical interventions available to coconut farmers.
The activity opened with welcome remarks from Municipal Agriculturist Antonio Luyao, followed by an inspirational message from Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Rose Suezo, M.D. Doris Isabel J. Racho, Project Officer, presented the rationale of the activity, emphasizing the importance of equipping farmers with updated knowledge and technologies to enhance farm productivity and resilience.

14,000 bags of agricultural-grade salt fertilizer delivered under PCA’s Coconut Fertilization Program to support ~4,500 farmers, 3,500 hectares of coconut farms, and 500,000+ bearing coconut trees in Cebu!

The PCA Cebu Provincial Office continues to move forward in supporting its coconut farmer.

Ongoing delivery of 14,000 bags of agricultural-grade salt fertilizer under PCA’s Coconut Fertilization Program will benefit more or less 4,500 coconut farmers and support 3,500 hectares of coconut farms, enhancing productivity and improving yields across the province.

This initiative is expected to fertilize and support over 500,000 bearing coconut trees, further strengthening coconut production in Cebu.
