People who have been subjected to racism have described physical symptoms as well as mental health problems that came as a result of their experiences.

We could have flourished from our diversity, yet prejudice persists and continues to impact more individuals every day.

Here's what we need to keep in mind: Our cultural background is something to be proud of, and there is nothing wrong with it.

Racial discrimination is still prevalent even in today's society.

Unfortunately, rampant discrimination can make people, especially people of color, be ashamed or conscious about their skin color or ethnicity.

Generally speaking, eliminating racism still has a long way to go and has to be done collectively.

Granted that there are external factors and challenges we cannot control, we can always start with ourselves by embracing our ethnicity.

This way, they can't at least use our race against us to deflate and affect our self-esteem and self-perception of ourselves.

Because we are proud of who we are, and we take pride in our culture and history. ✊🏾

It is said that we shouldn't judge a book by its cover; yet, people go through life being judged only on the basis of the color of their skin. It doesn't matter whether you're white, brown, or black. We are all so much more than the color of our skin.

Instead of establishing walls to divide us, we should build bridges to connect us and eradicate the humiliation and mistreatment that have accumulated over the years for those deemed to be less privileged. The first step in combating racism is to gain a better understanding of it. Our human rights can only be fully exercised if we all work together to eliminate racism and discrimination.
