𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝗦𝗘𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

𝗗𝗠𝗪–𝗡𝗖𝗥 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗢𝗙𝗪𝘀 (𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟮)

The Department of Migrant Workers–National Capital Region (DMW–NCR) awarded ₱1,260,000.00 in livelihood assistance to 84 qualified OFW beneficiaries under the Enhanced Livelihood Program for OFW Reintegration (ELPOR), with each beneficiary receiving ₱15,000.

Prior to the awarding, beneficiaries completed a Financial Awareness Seminar and Skills Training to help prepare them for sustainable livelihood opportunities.

The assistance was awarded by DMW–NCR Assistant Regional Director Maria Theresa Sanz, reaffirming the Department’s commitment to empowering returning OFWs toward sustainable livelihoods and a more secure future.

The Department of Migrant Workers–National Capital Region (DMW–NCR) awarded ₱1.77 million in livelihood assistance to 118 qualified OFW beneficiaries under the Enhanced Livelihood Program for OFW Reintegration (ELPOR), with each beneficiary receiving ₱15,000.

Prior to the awarding, beneficiaries completed a Financial Awareness Seminar and Skills Training to help prepare them for sustainable livelihood opportunities.

MANDALUYONG CITY — Matagumpay na isinagawa ang dalawang (2)-araw na Training of Trainers (ToT) para sa Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar (PEOS), sa pangunguna ng DMW – Migrant Workers Capacity Development Division (MWCDD), para sa mga kawani ng DMW-NCR mula noong Agosto 29 at Setyembre 01.

Layunin ng pagsasanay na higit pang mapaunlad ang kaalaman, kakayahan, at kasanayan ng mga kalahok upang maging mas epektibo silang tagapagsanay at tagapagbigay ng impormasyon sa publiko, partikular sa mga indibidwal na nagnanais na magtrabaho sa ibang bansa. Sa pamamagitan nito, inaasahang mas maihahanda ang mga aspiring Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) sa mga proseso, oportunidad, responsibilidad, at mga hamong maaari nilang harapin sa paghahanap at pag-a-apply ng trabaho sa ibang bansa.

Dinaluhan ang aktibidad ng DMW-NCR Regional Director Atty. Falconi “Ace” Millar, na nagbigay ng suporta sa naturang inisyatiba. Tampok din sa pagsasanay ang mga masigasig na resource speakers na nagbahagi ng kanilang kaalaman at karanasan, sa pangunguna ni MWCDD Chief Elizabeth “Beth” Mirabueno at OIC-Director IV ng Pre-Employment Government Placement Bureau Atty. Mary Grace Quilente.

Sa ikalawang araw ng aktibidad, nakiisa rin sina RTU University President Dr. Ma. Eugenia Yangco at Dr. Magno M. Quendangan, Vice-President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services, na nagpaabot ng kanilang mensahe ng suporta at pakikiisa sa mga mag-aaral at kalahok ng programa.

Binigyang-diin din sa aktibidad ang mga katagang “𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭 𝐢𝐭. 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐢𝐭. 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐭.” bilang gabay sa ligtas at matalinong paghahanap ng trabaho sa ibang bansa at sa pagtukoy at pag-uulat ng mga insidente ng iligal na recruitment.

Isinagawa ang ikalawang araw ng programa sa Rizal Technological University (RTU) – Boni Campus, kung saan higit isandaang graduating students ang nakilahok sa PEOS. Nabigyan ang mga mag-aaral ng mahahalagang impormasyon hinggil sa mga proseso at dapat isaalang-alang bago magdesisyong magtrabaho sa ibang bansa.

Sa pamamagitan ng mga programang tulad ng PEOS, patuloy na isinusulong ng DMW-NCR ang pagbibigay ng tama, napapanahon, at kapaki-pakinabang na impormasyon upang matulungan ang mga magiging OFWs na makagawa ng mga responsableng desisyon at maging mas handa sa kanilang paglalakbay tungo sa ligtas, legal, at marangal na pagtatrabaho sa ibang bansa.

𝗗𝗠𝗪-𝗡𝗖𝗥 𝗔𝗞𝗦𝗬𝗢𝗡 𝗙𝗨𝗡𝗗 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘

The Department of Migrant Workers – National Capital Region (DMW-NCR) released a total of ₱1.850 million in AKSYON Fund assistance to 30 OFW beneficiaries, providing much-needed support to migrant workers and their families in times of need.

In a simple and intimate awarding, the assistance was personally handed over by Regional Director Atty. Falconi V. Millar, allowing the Office to directly engage with the beneficiaries and reaffirm its commitment to providing responsive and compassionate service to our OFWs.

Through the AKSYON Fund, DMW-NCR continues to extend meaningful assistance to OFWs facing various challenges, while upholding its mandate to protect their rights, welfare, and well-being.

Every assistance extended is a reminder of DMW-NCR’s commitment to bringing government service closer to our migrant workers and their families—with compassion, dignity, and malasakit.

𝗗𝗠𝗪-𝗡𝗖𝗥 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗦 𝗛𝗢𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗟 𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗧, 𝗘𝗫𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗦 𝗠𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗢𝗙𝗪

The Department of Migrant Workers–National Capital Region (DMW-NCR) visited patient-OFW Neil Barreto at the FEU-NRMF Medical Center in Fairview, Quezon City, and awarded him medical assistance under the DMW AKSYON Fund.

Originally from Tacloban, Leyte, OFW Barreto has been confined at the hospital since June 2025 after suffering a stroke. At the time of the visit, he was undergoing physical therapy as part of his continuing treatment and recovery.

𝗗𝗠𝗪-𝗡𝗖𝗥 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗦 𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗘 𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗧, 𝗘𝗫𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗦 𝗔𝗞𝗦𝗬𝗢𝗡 𝗙𝗨𝗡𝗗 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗢𝗙𝗪

The Department of Migrant Workers–National Capital Region (DMW-NCR), through its Welfare and Reintegration Services Division (WRSD), visited distressed OFW Corazon Moralejo Nicol at her residence in Morong, Rizal, and awarded her ₱75,000 in financial assistance under the DMW AKSYON Fund.

OFW Nicol worked as a household worker for 12 years in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait. She returned to the Philippines on June 22, 2025, after being unable to complete her latest employment contract following her diagnosis with tracheal carcinoma.

𝗗𝗠𝗪-𝗡𝗖𝗥 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴

In observance of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons (WDAT) 2026, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) joined the CBCP Community PROTECT Consultative Forum and Formation as a resource speaker on “Protecting OFWs from Labor Trafficking through Safe and Ethical Labor Migration.”

Organized by the Diocese of Cubao Migrants Ministry at the Parish of Our Lady of Lourdes, N.S. Amoranto, Sta. Mesa Heights, Quezon City, the forum brought together parish ministries, barangay officials, and youth leaders to strengthen community-based efforts against human trafficking.

The Department of Migrant Workers – National Capital Region (DMW-NCR), through its Welfare and Reintegration Services Division (WRSD), conducted a home visit to distressed OFW Edith Oco Loriaga at her current residence in La Colina Subdivision, Fortune, Marikina City, where she was awarded with medical assistance under the DMW AKSYON Fund.

OFW Edith, a former massage therapist in Saudi Arabia, returned to the Philippines on July 20, 2026, and was immediately admitted to a hospital in Quezon City. Following medical examinations, she was diagnosed with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) secondary to acute glomerulonephritis, along with hypertensive cardiovascular disease, erosive gastritis, and mixed hemorrhoids.

The Department of Migrant Workers – National Capital Region (DMW–NCR) awarded ₱75,000 in medical relief assistance through the DMW AKSYON Fund to distressed seafarer Rowena Cadayona Asuncion during Radyo Pilipinas’ “Tahanan ng OFW” program.

OFW Asuncion, who worked on board as a waitress, was repatriated in October 2025 after discovering a breast lump while at sea. Upon her return to the Philippines, she was diagnosed with invasive breast carcinoma and is currently undergoing treatment and remains unable to work due to her medical condition.
