In line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the guidance of the Department of Transportation under Secretary Giovanni Z. Lopez to strengthen road safety initiatives and inter-agency cooperation, the Philippine Coast Guard โ Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (PCG-SAICT) participated in the Philippine Road Safety Summit 2026: Sama-sama Patungo sa Mas Ligtas na Kalsada on 26 May 2026 at Marco Polo Ortigas Manila.
During the summit, Rear Admiral Oliver S Tanseco, Inspector General and Commander of PCG-SAICT, served as a resource person and introduced the Philippine Road Safety Action Plan (PRSAP) 2023โ2028, providing an overview of its key strategies and initiatives as a national action plan toward achieving zero road crash deaths nationwide.
The summit gathered transportation and government agencies committed to promoting safer roads, responsible transport operations, and enhanced public safety measures nationwide. Also present during the activity was Senior Undersecretary Atty. Mark Steven Pastor of the Department of Transportation, together with representatives from various transportation agencies and stakeholders.
As part of the activity, participating agencies took part in the Commitment Signing, signifying their unified pledge to strengthen road safety programs, enforcement initiatives, and collaborative actions toward safer roads for the public.
The activity highlighted the importance of inter-agency coordination, public awareness, and collective responsibility in advancing national road safety efforts.
