𝙆𝘼𝙍𝘼𝙋𝘼𝙏𝘼𝙉 𝙎𝘼 𝙆𝘼𝙍𝘼𝙂𝘼𝙏𝘼𝙉, 𝙎𝘼𝙈𝘼-𝙎𝘼𝙈𝘼 𝙉𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝘼𝙇𝘼𝙂𝘼𝘼𝙉🌊

This September, the Coast Guard Weapons, Communications, Electronics and Information Systems Command (CGWCEISC) joins the nation in observing the Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) 2026.

Established through Presidential Proclamation No. 316, s. 2017, September is dedicated to raising national awareness on the Philippines’ maritime and archipelagic identity, as well as the importance of protecting our marine wealth, maritime domain, and coastal resources.

As an archipelagic nation, the sea is more than the waters that surround our islands it is part of our identity, livelihood, heritage, security, and future. Every Filipino has a role in protecting and preserving our seas for generations to come.

Let us recognize our rights over our seas, respect our marine environment, and do our part in keeping our oceans healthy and protected.

SPOTLIGHT: The Coast Guard Radio Operations and Maintenance Specialization Course (CGROMSC) “COASTWAVE” Class 27-2026, under the facilitation of CGWCEIS Training Institute, conducted a Coastal Cleanup Drive and Mangrove Planting Activity at Puerto Del Mar, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras, in support of the Philippine Coast Guard’s iCARE Program, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to environmental protection, community engagement, and responsible maritime service.

The activity brought together the students in collecting and properly disposing of coastal waste and planting mangroves to help protect shorelines, provide habitats for marine life, and contribute to a healthier and more resilient coastal ecosystem.

More than an environmental activity, the initiative provided the students with an opportunity to put into practice the values of service, teamwork, and community responsibility. It also strengthened their awareness of the important role they will play as future Coast Guard radio operators and maintainers in supporting maritime safety and the communities they are expected to serve and protect.

Through their participation, CGROMSC “COASTWAVE” Class 27-2026 demonstrated that the Coast Guard’s mission extends beyond technical competence and operational readiness. Their involvement in the PCG iCARE Program reflects the commitment to care for the environment, engage with coastal communities, and contribute to the sustainable protection of the country’s maritime resources.

Guided by the core values of Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty, the students continue to demonstrate that serving the nation means not only protecting its seas but also caring for its people, communities, and coastal environment.

𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤: The Coast Guard Weapons, Communications, Electronics, and Information Systems Command (CGWCEISC), headed by Vice Admiral Arnaldo M. Lim PCG, administered the oath of re-enlistment to Chief Petty Officer Mainnald L. Santos PCG and twenty-four (24) other CGWCEISC personnel during the Monday Morning Colors Ceremony held on 24 August 2026 at Headquarters CGWCEISC.

The ceremony marked an important milestone for the twenty-five (25) re-enlistees as they reaffirmed their commitment to continue serving the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). Through their renewed oath, they pledged to uphold the core values of Honor, Respect, and Devotion to duty while continuing to contribute to the advancement of the PCG’s Weapons, Communications, Electronics, and Information Systems capabilities in support of effective maritime operations.

Representing the re-enlistees, Chief Petty Officer Mainnald L. Santos PCG, the most senior among the re-enlisting personnel, marked his eighth re-enlistment in the service and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to continue serving the organization. In his message, he emphasized that re-enlistment goes beyond extending one’s service. It is a renewed commitment to selfless service, professionalism, and excellence.

He also encouraged his fellow Coast Guardian to remain steadfast in their duties, uphold integrity and discipline, and continue serving the Filipino people with honor and distinction.

The ceremony concluded with the Commander, CGWCEISC congratulating the re-enlistees on their renewed commitment to the PCG. He underscored that their decision to continue serving in uniform reflects their loyalty and readiness to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to them and to uphold the standards of the Philippine Coast Guard.

More than a renewal of service, their re-enlistment represents a renewed promise to serve. As they begin another chapter in their Coast Guard journey, the twenty-five re-enlistees reaffirm that dedication is not simply measured by the years spent in uniform, but by the continued willingness to answer the call of duty.
