"Kabankalan City Drug Bust Yielded Php 1.1 M Shabu, 2 Suspects Nabbed"
Php 1,156,000.00 estimated worth or 170 grams of suspected Shabu was confiscated in a buy-bust operation at Purok Santan, Brgy. Camugao, Kabankalan City by the joint elements of Special Operations Unit 6, PNP Drug Enforcement Group led by PLT ERIC B DEOCAMPO, together with Station Drug Enforcement Team, Kabankalan CCPS led by PLT DENNIS A MELGAREJO and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Negros Oriental PPO led by PMAJ ELPIDIO R TAGO-AN in coordination with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6 on July 20, 2022 at 3:31 PM.
The subjects of the operation were Jomy Consular y Dela Cruz aka “Toto”, 42 years old, male, single and a resident of Sitio Linag-asan, Brgy. Hilamonan, Kabankalan City and Leosella Consular y Cuenca alias “Shela”, 27 years old, female, single and a resident of Sitio Linag-asan, Brgy. Hilamonan, Kabankalan City.
Recovered from the suspects’ possession and control were one (1) knot tied transparent plastic sachet containing suspected Shabu (buy-bust item), twenty-four (24) pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected Shabu, one (1) piece one thousand-peso bill (genuine) placed on top of boodle money, one (1) piece coin purse color brown, one (1) piece leather sling bag color brown, one (1) unit android phone lnfinix brand, one (1) unit android phone Oppo brand and one (1) unit Kawasaki Bajaj tricycle. The suspects are under the custody of Kabankalan CCPS for proper disposition. The non-drug pieces of evidence were under the custody of Special Operations Unit 6, PNP Drug Enforcement Unit while the pieces of drug evidence were brought to Negros Occidental Provincial Forensic Unit for drug specimen examination.
PCOL LEO B PAMITTAN, NOCPPO Acting Provincial Director, praised the operating troops and ordered more focused intelligence monitoring on known drug groups operating in the province.
