Yesterday, the Technical Working Group of Maguindanao del Sur and Maguindanao del Norte convened its second meeting on the division of the assets and liabilities of the former Province of Maguindanao at the Mango Grove Conference Room in Datu Anggal, Maguindanao del Sur.

The meeting was attended by the heads of the Provincial Offices of both Maguindanao del Sur and Maguindanao del Norte, who participated in the discussions and collaborative efforts toward the equitable and orderly division of the assets and liabilities of the former Province of Maguindanao.

The activity underscored the commitment of both provincial governments to transparency, accountability, and effective intergovernmental coordination in carrying out the asset and liability division in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

The Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) MDS headed by Governor Datu Ali M. Midtimbang together with Department Heads recently convened an Exit Conference with the Commission on Audit (COA) to address the audit observations for 2025. This crucial meeting served as a platform for the PLGU MDS to directly present and discuss its responses to COA's findings, demonstrating its commitment to fiscal responsibility and sound governance.

During the conference, the PLGU MDS underscored its steadfast adherence to all established accounting and auditing rules, emphasizing the core principles of transparency and accountability in all financial operations. Discussions also delved into other related auditing terms such as internal controls, risk management, and compliance, as the department outlined its strategies to address and rectify the identified audit observations.

The submission of the 2025 Provincial Annual Accomplishment Report, meticulously aligned with comprehensive financial documents, was a central component of the conference. This integrated presentation showcased how operational achievements are directly supported by verifiable financial data, providing clear evidence of responsible resource utilization and validating the PLGU MDS's efforts to ensure that public funds are managed legally, efficiently, and effectively.

The conference reaffirmed the PLGU MDS's dedication to continuously improving its financial management systems and upholding the highest standards of public service.

Strengthening transparency and accountability in public service! 📊

The Provincial Government of Maguindanao del Sur participated in a comprehensive seminar on the New Government Procurement Act (NGPA) – RA 12009, with a strong focus on its updated provisions and the shift toward Procurement by Electronic Means. The training also covered its Implementing Rules and Regulations, updated bid forms, and the latest GPPB updates for CY 2026. It was organized by Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) held at Hotel Supreme, Baguio City last April 16-18, 2026.

Representing the province were our PACCO Department Head, Atty. Hamseya T. Abpi, CPA, PPDO Department Head, EnP. Nulfarid S. Ampatuan, CoE, MPA, PHRMO Department Head, Dr. Minambay A. Salim, PEO Department Head, Eng. Abdulwahab V. Tunga, Provincial Legal Department Head, Attorney Rex B. Porras, CPA, together with fellow employees of the province who actively engaged in this important learning activity.

This training plays a crucial role in ensuring that our procurement processes are aligned with the latest standards—promoting efficiency, accountability, and integrity in the use of public funds. With these strengthened competencies, our team is better equipped to deliver responsive and transparent services to our constituents.

Together, we continue to build a more accountable and service-driven Maguindanao del Sur.
